Today, we start with the 5A State Champions, Imhotep Charter. Below, we go over 12 prospects who stood out to us on film this past season.
A former Georgia commitment, Coleman recently reopened his recuritment and should have plenty of suiotrs. There are few running backs in the country better than Coleman. He’s the full package and quite frankly, we’ve talked about Coelman a ton on here over the last few years and there’s nothing new that you don’t already know about the running back. He’s an elite talent and going to have a great chance to be a star at the next level in someone’s backfield.
Mathis committed to Ohio State on Wednesday and like Coleman, we’ve talked a ton about Mathis throughout his high school career so far. Mathis has the potential to be an elite defensive end at the enxt level though we would like to see him flash his dominance on a more consistent basis as a senior but in terms of ceilings, no player in the class of 2025 has a higher ceiling arguably than the Imhotep standout.
One of our top 20 prospects, Locks has really nice size andlength as a cornerback and somebody who I thought took a nice step forward as a junior at Imohtep. A very good athlete, Locks often got overlooked due to teammate Kenny Woseley Jr, a top-10 prospect in the class of 2024 within the state. But Locks showed this season that he can play at a ihgh level consistently and do so against good competition as well. Consistent player snap to snap which is always great to see and is a very good athlete. His athleticism profile and his length make him a very intriguing prospect who I think could see an uptick in his recruitment this offseason.
Whitfield gets overlooked by a few of his taemmates on the defensive side of the ball but he’s someone who certaintly pops on film at times. He’s got good side at 6-foot-2 and 245-pounsd and mvoes well for his size and can still add more from a weight perpsective without losing too much of that athleticism. There’s plenty of untapped potential left in Whitfield in my opinion and while he did see a small drop in our latest rankins, I believe there’s a good chance he can bounce back up the rankings in the future.

A player that I admittedly haven’t too familiar with, I thought Davis-Smith’s junior film was a quality one. He possess good sizea t 5-foot-10 and 180-pounds and looks to be a quality athlete. Really love what he can offer in run support and in coverage, there’s plenty to like as well. Has good play recongition and read-and-react skills, shows a good football IQ that makes up for any shortcomings. Takes good routes to the ball and shows the ability to stay with his man in coverage with good ball skills.
A top-100 player in the state, Dantzler is a quick reaction corner whose not afraid to be physical. Not always going to be the best athlete on the field but makes up for it by playing his man well, very good at finding ways to break up passes and comes down with several intreceptions as well. Good play recongition and takes strong routes to the ball. Quality in run support as well, personally I like his profile a bit more as a potentail safety than cornerback.
Finally another player on the offensive side of the ball, Prater has nice size at 5-foot-10 and 170-pounds. He’s a good improvisor with the ball in the hand, probably looks to make too much happen sometimes. Decent athleticism profile but is able to garner sepration still through what he does have and his route running. Strong hands and looks to be a reliable pass cathcer.
We’re going to be talking about Scott for a long time here at PrepRedzone. The rising freshman projects as a potential elite linebacker nationally and was impressive for Imhotep as a freshman this season. Very good athlete and shows strong football IQ for a 2027 prospect. Strong pursuit skills and clsoign speed as well. Really excited about Scott could ultimately devleop into. Already has FBS interest.

A high-ceiling player, Moore already has good size at 6-foot-3 and 260-pounds and should be able to settle in around the 30-mark by the time he’s done growing easily. Quick first step off the line of scrimmage, strong lower body strngth, very good run blocker, helping pave the way for Coleman to put up big numbers. Good athlete for his size as well. Projets to a high Group of Five or Power Five offensive lineman.
Here’s what our Vic Castillo Vic Castillo RB PA wrote about Norris earlier this fall.rn
The 5-foot-9, 2027 prospect will be a name to knowa t the wide reciver position going forward within the state. He’s shown glimpses of what could be a special wide reciver with very good athletlicism, creating consistent seperation. Shows strong hands and a good catch radius that allows him to catch most balls within his vicitinty. Can makes catches in contested situations. Advanced wide reciever prospect as a freshman who should be ranked quite high in our 2027 rankings.

Very intriguing prospect here in Besler. He was once a quarterback but made the move to the defensive side of the ball at linebacker and has exceled. So much so, that Penn State has already extended an offer in the Imhotep Charter standout. For someone who recently made the move to linebacker, Besler was really impressive and looked like a natural at the position. It’s a much better use of his athleticism and size. Has a good burst to his game, smooth hips and agility. Still raw at the positionw hich is understandable but the ceiling is high for Besler. If he continues to grow, I could see a scenario in which he devleops into a defensive end as well as he appears to have some nice length.
