These guys took their game to another level during their title games, pushing their recruiting stock further while establishing themselves as top tier playmakers heading into the offseason.
rnAt the top of my list of notable performers is Britton Carver Britton Carver 6’1″ | 295 lbs | OL Knox. West | 2024 State TN , an offensive lineman at Knox. West High School. Carver and the West Rebels are coming off a 24-19 win over Page in the Class 5A title game this past week. What impresses me about Carver is his ability to utilize solid footwork and arm strength, blocking pressure and prolonging the time of possession. I also like how Carver can exert his strength off the snap to push the defense back and open up the pocket for the rush. Carver also stands out with his ability to plug openings on the line and overwhelm the defense with his physical edge.

rnI am additionally impressed with Shawne Jones Shawne Jones 6’2″ | 190 lbs | WR Houston | 2024 State TN , a wide receiver at Houston High School. Jones and the Mustangs picked up a 24-9 victory over Oakland in the Class 6A title game last week. In addition to outstanding athleticism and breakaway speed, what makes Jones so explosive is his ability to confuse the defense in coverage with his footwork and ability to maneuver the field. I also like how Jones can elevate off the ground to haul in crucial touchdown passes. Jones also stands out with his team-oriented playstyle, showing off his strength and ability to block the defense in the backfield.

rnClaiming the number three spot on my list is Joshua Hampton Joshua Hampton 6’2″ | 175 lbs | DB Baylor | 2024 State TN , a defensive back at Baylor High School. Hampton and the Red Raiders fell 34-28 to McCallie in the D2-Class AAA title game this past week. What I like most about Hampton’s playstyle is his ability to read the offense and utilize his speed to quickly stop the rush from along the edge. Another aspect of Hampton that impresses is his field positioning, showcasing his ability to lock down the backfield, move up to make tackles and cause an assortment of issues for the offense.rn Tape:

Another skilled prospect was Alto Moore, a linebacker at Boyd-Buchanan High School. Moore and the Buccaneers were unable to close out their season with a win, falling 35-13 to Boyd-Buchanan in the D2-Class AA championship game last week. Moore catches my attention with his quick execution, defensive aggression and ability to read the offense like a book. Moore also plays consistently in the pocket, using his size and physical edge to suffocate the rush and keep the opposition out of the backfield.
rnComing in at number five on my list is Brooks Jones Brooks Jones 6’1″ | 210 lbs | LB MTCS | 2024 TN , a linebacker at Middle Tennessee Christian High School. Jones and the Cougars are coming off a 28-13 win over Friendship Christian in the D2-Class A championship game this past week. Jones stands out due to his ability to blast past the offensive line, apply pressure on the quarterback and force the occasional fumble. I also like how Jones picks up speed to make crucial tackles from along the edge, proving he can protect the backfield and keep the offense out of the redzone. Another aspect of Jones that made a big difference in the title game was his ability to predict the quarterback and disrupt passing in the endzone.
Robert Left
Robert Left
Also worth mentioning is Robert Left, a defensive back at Pearl-Cohn High School. Left and the Firebirds picked up a 36-27 victory over Upperman in the Class 4A championship game this past week. What makes Left so impactful defensively is his ability to quickly slip through openings in the pocket to apply pressure and collect sacks. I’m also fond of how Left can lock in on third-down and disrupt the run game in the pocket. Left also makes a considerable difference in coverage, using his size and strength to wrap up receivers in the backfield and haul in interceptions.
Bronzdon Chaffin
Bronzdon Chaffin
Another playmaker from championship week was Bronzdon Chaffin, a quarterback at Upperman High School. Chaffin and the Bees were unable to prevail in the Class 4A title game last week, falling 36-27 to Pearl-Cohn. In addition to remaining composed in crucial scenarios, Chaffin impresses me with his unpredictability under center, balancing both a strong run game and smart deep passing. With great footwork, excellent arm strength and pin-point accurate passing, Chaffin has shown off his ability to hit his receivers in stride and consistently put his team on the scoreboard.
Cade Brooks
Cade Brooks
rnAlso deserving of a spot on my list is Cade Brooks, an athlete at East Robertson High School. Brooks and the Indians recently fell short 13-7 to Riverside in the Class 2A title game this past week. Brooks makes a huge difference on the ground, utilizing his size and strength to both shake tackles and knock the defense to the ground en route to the endzone. I’m also impressed with Brooks due to his catching ability and ability to escape the defense from along the edge. I also like how Brooks can execute trick plays, proving he can toss touchdown passes under pressure.
