From testing times, to individual drills, to 1-on-1’s, each and every running back and tight end displayed strength, athleticism, and elusiveness. The following 5 running backs and tight ends stood out the most as they dominated almost every rep that that took.
RUNNING BACKS:
Guadagni earned Running Back MVP Honors at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase, as the athletic junior out of Canton impressed throughout the day. He tested well, posting a 4.84 40 yard dash, a 4.44 short shuttle, and a 6.68 L-Drill. The shifty and explosive back dominated in open field drills against the linebackers, often shaking their attempt to tackle with a side step or juke move. And in 1-on-1’s, every defensive back and linebacker who tried to cover him watched as Guadagni shook them with his elusiveness on his way to the end zone. This rising star in Guadagni showed out on Sunday.

The speedy tailback from H.H. Dow put on a show at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. Randolph, a sophomore, boasted his impressive speed and athleticism throughout the camp. One of the shiftier backs in attendance, Randolph was able to create separation when running routes out of the backfield. Linebackers had an extremely difficult time covering him and struggled even more trying to square him up in open field tackle drills. As this sophomore continues to develop, keep an eye out for Randolph throughout his next two seasons.
Highlights
Duru posted the best testing times of any of the running backs in the group at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase, as the sophomore out of West Bloomfield ran a 4.72 40 yards dash, 4.55 short shuttle, and 7.2 L-Drill. The dynamic playmaker measured in at 5’7, 155 lbs. His speed also translated to individual drills, as Duru possesses impressive footwork and the ability to make defenders miss in the open field. His speed also made him difficult to cover in 1-on-1’s, as he can reach a second gear that opposing defensive backs and linebackers struggled to run with. This rising sophomore is only getting started and will be fun to watch over the next two years.

TIGHT ENDS:
The 6’4, 218 lbs tight end out of Dexter turned heads at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. He took home Tight End MVP Honors and looked like anything but a freshman throughout the camp. He has the size, athleticism, and hands that projects him to be an elite tight end prospect as he continues his high school career. Niemi was perhaps the most difficult athlete to cover in the 1-on-1 portion, as he won with speed, route running, and body control. Over his next 3 high school season, Niemi is sure to become a house hold name throughout the state of Michigan.

Watkins, who showed off his explosiveness throughout the MI PRZ Stock Up Showcase, is a sophomore from Port Huron Northern. The 6’3, 212 tight end possesses both strength and athleticism. He jumped a 9’2 broad jump and ran a 7.53 L-Drill during the testing period. He showed crisp route running and strong hands during individual drills and translated that to 1-on-1’s, as he consistently came down with 50/50 passes versus linebackers and defensives back. As his frame fills out and Watkins continues to develop at his craft, he’ll be a big time prospect in no time.

The 6’5, 215 lbs junior out of Cass Tech was one of the more skilled pass catchers at the PRZ MI Stock Up Showcase. Baker has the frame and skills to be an all around skilled tight end prospect. He was a smooth route runner and displayed elite body control that won him many of his 1-on-1 matchups. Baker understands how to use his big frame and leverage to go up and get the ball. And his soft hands and confidence when catching makes him a dangerous target in the red zone. This rising star in Baker is a name for college coaches to add to their big boards immediately.
