This was tough to break it down to only 5, and there are a ton more guys I could talk about, but here’s my best shot!
Jhace Massey
Jhace Massey
Jhace just announced his commitment to Saginaw Valley, and I think just turning on his film will tell you why this is such a big get for them. Jhace is really athletic, playing multiple positions on offense and defense, and he might have been the best defensive player on the team too. He’s a dynamic receiver who can run crisp and precise routes, or just straight up outphysical defenders for jump balls. His performance against Clare was as gritty as it gets. Defensively, he snagged an interception and a plethora of tackles, while offensively playing WR and then QB due to 2 injuries to the starter and backup. Jhace ended up throwing TD passes in an epic comeback. This kid is special and absolutely was a no brainer for this list.
Maddox had a fantastic game when I saw him week 1. He wound up going for 3 TDs en route to a huge win over Romeo. From what I saw, he was really special at getting vertical and stretching the defense. He does a really nice job of getting separation and securing the catch, then he gets upfield for some YAC. Contested catches aren’t too much of an issue has he was good at getting good position and going up to grab it. Whether it was running up the seam from the slot or running fades from the outside, Maddox is a rounded athlete who can stress a defense a ton.

Tarick stands out at receiver for a multitude of reasons. Clean routes, sticky hands and an incredible leaping ability allow Bower to be a threat on any route he runs. He has springs for legs and can go up and get high throws on the regular over defenders. His route running has steadily improved, and I still think there is another level to be unlocked there. He is a gritty guy who can run over defenders and get physical. In fact one of the games I watched him in, he was lined up in a wing back position and they pounded the rock with him, and he was able to deliver some punishing blows. SVSU will have a ton of options to get this dude the ball and I am pumped to see how he is utilized with such a unique skillset.
This dude may have been the best WR in the state, and could be considered one of the best in the country. Toledo is getting an absolute steal, and I think Tashi is going to take advantage of his deep skillset to dominate the MAC. He has got anything you need. He has size, can get physical, he’s speedy in and out of breaks, and has great hands that are reliable as can be in traffic. He reads defenses well and finds the open gaps to sit in, and when he needs to keep moving, he is fantastic at improvising to get space. Against elite competition, I watched him be absolutely dominant with over 150 yards receiving. Be on the lookout for this guy as his trajectory is still going up.

Jake recently committed to Grand Valley, and I am super stoked to see what he can do at the next level. One of the most productive receivers I saw all season long, Jake has been a tough cover for a couple years now. I think he may even be a D1 level talent in many aspects. He has elite hands, and late hands that DBs cannot read. He wins 50/50 balls more often than not by just boxing out the DB and having the better vertical. He moves well in and out of breaks, and can absolutely park it on a dime to send the DB flying by on hitch routes. GVSU should be super pumped about keeping Jake in the GR area, but I would not be shocked at all if he someday finds himself in the portal with some solid D1 offers.
