Redbank Valley – 2026 QB Jaxon Huffman
Sophomore quarterback Jaxon Huffman had a breakout performance, to say the least in Redbank Valley’s 26-7 win over Port Allegheny. After not throwing more than one attempt in a game all season, Huffman completed 13-of-22 passing attempts for 344 yards and their touchdowns on Friday against Port Allegheny to lead the Bulldogs to the District 9 Class A Championship.
Cambria Heights – 2025 RB Stephen Nelen
Junior running back Stephen Nelen had the biggest day for Cambria Heights in their 27-13 win over Purchase Line. Nelen had 110 total yards in the game (63 rushing yards, 47 passing yards) while also picking up a touchdown.
South Side – We were unable to find any stats or recaps of South Side’s win over Clarion.
Lackawanna Trail – 2024 RB Lukas Gumble
Gumble found the endzone four times in Lackawanna’s Trail 40-0 win over Minersville over the weekend. According to PAFotoballNews, Gumble rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns on 11 carries. The 2024 running back stands at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds.
South Williamsport – 2024 RB Ryan Casella
It was the Ryan Casella show in South Williamsport’s 57-20 win over Muncy last weekend according to the Sun Gazette. In the game, Casella rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns over 27 carries.
Fort Cherry – 2026 ATH Matt Sieg Matt Sieg 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Fort Cherry | 2026 State PA
Sieg has had a huge sophomore season and has become a name to know especially regionally on the recruiting trail. Sieg against Fort Cherry had 276 total yards including 166 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground in the Rangers’ 33-21 win over Bishop Canevin. The 6-foot-0, 170-pound athlete is being recruited by most programs as a safety prospect.
Steelton-Highspire – Steelton-Highspire defense
We’re going to go with a cop-out answer here and give the top performer to the entire Rollers defense. Steelton-Highspire kept North Bedford to just 140 total yards in a 21-7 win last Friday in Claysburg according to the Altoona Mirror. Prior to last Friday’s matchup, North Bedford was kept to just 36.9 points per game. An impressive performance out of the Rollers.
Cambridge Springs – 2026 ATH Brandon Hoover
Sophomore athlete Brandon Hoover was great for Cambridge Springs in a 32-29 win over Lakeview. Hoover had 110 total yards from scrimmage (51 passing, 41 receiving, 18 rushing) and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns came as a receiver as he totaled three receptions for 41 yards and the pair of scores.
