Nazareth Academy beat Joliet Catholic 38-20 with an impressive offensive showing. Malachuk did a great job getting the ball to multiple players on offense. The junior quarterback went 23-34 for 414 yards and a 4 touchdowns.

Cary-Grove had the upset of the day taking down East St Louis 23-20 to take home the 6A championship. The Trojans did a great job running the ball to grind out the clock, limiting East St Louis’s offensive opportunities. Logan Abrams Logan Abrams 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL Cary-Grove | 2026 State IL was the guy Cary-Grove relied on to get the hard yards to keep the chains moving on Saturday. He ended the game with 87 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Mount Carmel has no issues taking down Downers Grove North 35-10 in the Class 7A championship. The Caravan were in full control of the game for 4 quarters as they won their 15th state championship. A lot of players showed up to have standout performances but senior wide receiver Kevin Gardner stood out catching the first 2 touchdowns of the game. He ended the game with 82 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Loyola was able to back-to-back winning the 8A rematch from last year beating Lincoln-Way East 26-16. The Ramblers were in control most of the game largely due to their ability to establish a run game. Junior running back Drew MacPherson Drew MacPherson 6’1″ | 190 lbs | RB Loyola Academy | 2025 State IL had a good night running the ball for Loyola, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown. He also had 3 receptions for 51 yards. Loyola will look to reload and run it back in 2024.
