The Hawks offense was explosive, totaling 445 yards, using big plays made by a trio of playmakers who have been performing at a high level this season. Whether it was by air or by ground, the Hawks showed that they can score from any down and distance and they got the job done, advancing to the second round of the playoffs. We discuss the dynamic trio who made the big plays in crunch time.
Williams Jr. is a big body target who runs crisp routes, he is explosive at the point of attack which enables him to win consistently off of the line of scrimmage, his ability to change directions quickly aids in him being able to beat press coverage and these traits make him one the most dangerous weapons in the Red Oak offense. Taz wins on the 50/50 contested catches routinely, he has great body control combined with the physical make up to brush off contact and that was on full display on a huge grab over a defender in which he muscled the ball into his hands and sprinted to the end zone for six. He finished the night with 6 catches for 143 yards and a touchdown, while averaging over 23 yards a catch. He is one to top wide receivers in the Class of 2025 and holds double digits offers from the likes of Texas, Alabama, Baylor, Wisconsin and Georgia to name a few.
Highlights
Robinson is phone booth quick, his ability to change gears without wasted steps is next level and he is threat to make a house call when he gets his hands on the football. Brayden has strong reliable hands, he tracks the football in flight like a hawk and he has the strength to overpower defenders in close coverage to win on contested grabs consistently. Robinson is a dynamic runner in the open field, he is shifty with the ability to make defenders miss and he has an extra burst that creates separation even when a opponent has the angle on him and these traits make him a lethal weapon. He exploded against Centennial for 6 catches for 123 yards and touchdown while averaging over 20 yards a reception. Brayden has the attention of colleges across the country, with a double digit offer sheet that includes Texas, TCU, Arizona State, LSU, Arkansas and Colorado just to name a few.
Martinez Jr. is the definition of athlete. Chris has had a monster year as a running back, totaling well over 1,300 all-purpose yards, he set the Red Oak record for touchdowns in a game with 6 and the most rushing yards in a game with 262 yards earlier this season. He has great vision, he shows patience in the hole that enables him to set up his blocks and when he gets a crease he has the burst to get to the second level quickly. Martinez Jr. runs with great forward lean, he runs with power that allows him to shake off arm tackles and he has the shifty feet to shake defenders in the open field. His reliable hands make a him a threat out of the backfield. Chris stepped in for injured started Reggie Moody Jr. at quarterback vs Centennial and the Red Oak offense didn’t miss a beat. He had a phenomenal game, throwing for 286 yards connecting on 14 of his 21 attempts with 2 touchdowns and Martinez Jr. led the Hawks rushing with 90 yards on the ground and a touchdown. Chris is a plug and play athlete who balls out no matter where he lines up. Whatever college program gets him on campus will be getting a player who steps up and performs in crunch time.
