As we begin the month of November, one of the most exciting times of the year is finally here, playoff football! With the 2023 high school football season in the state of Kentucky behind us, I wanted to focus on some of the top players from this past season. In order to do this, I will be releasing my Regular Season All-State teams in each class. With classes 6A and 5A out of the way, I will now turn my attention to 4A, starting with the offensive side of the ball.

During the regular season, James completed 187/275 passes for 3,038 yards, 42 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. James has a very strong arm which he uses to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride in the deep passing game. He has also shown impressive accuracy, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver can catch it. James has also shown the ability to make plays with his legs when needed, finishing the regular season with 38 carries for 201 yards and five touchdowns. Jack currently holds offers from Miami (OH), Eastern Kentucky, Troy, and Old Dominion, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber quarterback prospect.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["873790"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Giaonni Hunter is a player that has been on my radar for a while now but truly had a breakout year in 2023. The junior running back finished the regular season as the leading rusher in 4A, running the ball 225 times for 1,742 yards and 17 touchdowns. Hunter has very explosive speed, showing the ability to burst through the running lane and simply run away from the defense on long runs. He has also shown the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. Hunter also showed the ability to catch passes out of the backfield this season, finishing with seven receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown. He also played a role on defense at linebacker where he returned one fumble for a touchdown. Hunter doesn't currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way eventually as he has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play at the next level.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["373826"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Another 4A running back that stood out to me this season is Peyton Smith from Taylor County. Smith had a very strong regular season, finishing with 136 carries for 1,324 yards and 17 touchdowns. Peyton has impressive speed which he uses to burst through the running lane and run away from the defense on long runs. He also has shown a nice amount of strength when running the ball, showing the contact balance to run straight through defenders without breaking stride. Smith also caught 10 passes for 93 yards and returned one kickoff for a touchdown during the regular season. Peyton currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he has received a solid amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the Division I level.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["334645"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Martels Carter Jr quickly established himself as one of the top players in the state after transferring to Paducah Tilghman this season. Carter had a very impressive regular season at receiver, catching 31 passes for 810 yards and nine touchdowns. Martels mainly lines up in the slot where he is able to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He also played a role in the run game, finishing the regular season with seven carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Carter is also a very talented defensive back on the other side of the ball and is an electric return specialist, returning three punts and one kickoff for touchdowns during the regular season. Martels currently holds offers from Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Power 5 caliber prospect that could play on either side of the ball at the next level.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["876429"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Antajuan Dumphord made the move from quarterback to wide receiver this season and thrived in his new position. He finished his junior regular season with 57 receptions for 1,047 yards and 12 touchdowns. Dumphord lines up mainly on the outside where he is able to use his speed to pose as a true deep threat. He also has shown the ability to use his athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point in contested catch situations. Dumphord also played a key role as a ball carrier, finishing the season with 54 carries for 322 yards and 12 touchdowns while also returning one kickoff for a touchdown. Antajuan currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_5_player":["1049425"],"_player_evaluations_5_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_5_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"Gray Schmittel is a player that has jumped onto my radar this season. The junior wide receiver had a very impressive regular season, catching 75 passes for 799 yards and nine touchdowns in just eight games. Schmittel lines up in the slot where he uses his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation in the deep passing game. He is also dangerous after the catch, showing the ability to turn short passes into big gains at any given moment. Gray doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on throughout the rest of this season and going into his senior year as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.","_player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_6_player":["373790"],"_player_evaluations_6_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"I wanted to add Montavin Quisenberry to this team as an u0022ATHu0022 selection as he has established himself as one of the top players in the entire state and has done a little bit of everything for the Rebels this season. He finished the regular season as his team's leading receiver, catching 28 passes for 554 yards and nine touchdowns. Quisenberry has shown the ability to use his speed and smooth breaks in his routes to create separation from opposing defensive backs with ease. He has also been explosive out of the backfield as a ball carrier, finishing the regular season with 37 carries for 406 yards and 12 touchdowns. Montavin also threw one touchdown pass and has proven to be a very dangerous returner on special teams, returning one punt and two kickoffs for a touchdown in the regular season. He has also played a key role on defense as a defensive back this season. Quisenberry currently holds offers from Michigan, Kentucky, Louisville, and Ole Miss, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Power 5 caliber prospect.","_player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_7_player":["653367"],"_player_evaluations_7_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"Willie Rodriguez is a player that came into this season with high expectations and has been as advertised. He has had an impressive senior year and has played a key role in the Covington Catholic passing game, catching 17 passes for 310 yards and eight touchdowns in eight games. Rodriguez has shown the speed to pose as a deep threat while also showing the ability to run a full route tree. He has also shown the ability to pick up yards after the catch, using his speed to get up the field to break away from the defense while also showing the strength as a ball carrier to break tackles in the open field. I also like what he brings as a blocker, showing the ability to drive his man out of the picture to create a running lane. Rodriguez also proved to be a very reliable pass rusher off the edge on the defensive side of the ball this season. Willie is committed to Kentucky where I can see him becoming a key piece of their offense once he gets there.","_player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_8_player":["419795"],"_player_evaluations_8_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_8_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_8_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_8_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_8_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_8_evaluation":"Franklin West is an offensive lineman that I have been high on for a while now that has continued to impress as a senior. West lines up at left tackle where he has been dominant as a run blocker. He explodes out of his stance and does a great job of driving his man down the field and finishing his blocks through the whistle. West has also shown the ability to get up to the second level and pick up blocks in open space. He has also proven to be reliable as a pass blocker, showing the ability to mirror opposing pass rushers and keep a strong base, not allowing for much penetration into the pocket. Franklin currently holds multiple Division I offers and I expect him to be a key piece of the offensive line wherever he decides to play at the next level as he has the talent to play at multiple spots on the offensive line.","_player_evaluations_8_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_9_player":["381903"],"_player_evaluations_9_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_9_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_9_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_9_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_9_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_9_evaluation":"Tomago Daniels Jr is another senior offensive lineman that has stood out to me this season. Daniels lines up at guard where he plays with a ton of physicality. He has shown the ability to finish his blocks through the whistle, resulting in several pancake blocks. Daniels also does a great job of getting to the second level and picking up blocks in open space. Tomago is also very reliable in pass protection. He gets into his pass sets quickly and keeps a strong base, not allowing for any penetration into the pocket or his inside gap. Daniels currently holds offers from Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Missouri State and I expect him to thrive wherever he ends up at the next level.","_player_evaluations_9_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_10_player":["971529"],"_player_evaluations_10_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_10_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_10_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_10_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_10_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_10_evaluation":"To wrap up my 4A Regular Season All-State Offense, I have Colt Kelly from Boyle County. Kelly has established himself as one of the top young offensive linemen in the entire state. Colt has already shown impressive positional versatility as he has made starts at both guard and center. He is a true mauler in the run game, showing the ability to explode out of his stance and drive his man several yards down the field to create a running lane for the ball carrier. Kelly finishes his blocks with a ton of physicality, resulting in several pancake blocks. He has also shown reliability as a pass blocker, keeping his head on a swivel to continue to find work and keep his quarterback protected. Colt doesn't currently hold any offers but he will definitely be a player to keep a close eye on over the next few seasons as he continues to develop.","_player_evaluations_10_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":11,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-654c182bca35a"} /-->
