Blake Salvino
Blake Salvino
The 6’2, 205 lb senior signal caller had a monster night as Glenbard East knocked down their previously undefeated rivals in Glenbard South. East is having quite the season, and Salvino is a big reason why. He accounted for 3 touchdowns and 185 yards on the night, as the 7-1 Rams continue to roll. He showcases plus athleticism and a powerful arm that allows him to throw over defensive backs and into the arms of his wide receivers. Additionally, Salvino shows off his athleticism at linebacker on defense. This two-way player does it all for the Rams, so keep an eye out for Salvino and his squad to make some noise throughout the playoffs.
The junior wide out from Plainfield East kept the Bengals in the game all night long. Ultimately, East fell to Joliet West by 2. However, Morris’ night can’t be overshadowed. The speedy wide receiver accounted for 125 yards on 10 receptions, while scoring once. Morris measures in at 6’0, 170 lbs and showcases elite speed, quick acceleration, and a shiftiness in the open field that makes him extremely difficult to tackle. In addition to these skills, Morris is a crisp route runner and has smooth hands. This junior will continue to make plays throughout the rest of this season and next.
The Cary-Grove sophomore running back had himself another big night in a shootout victory over Crystal Lake South. Abrams rushed for 189 yards and 4 touchdowns. He primarily plays fullback for the Trojans. This is a position that many before him have made a name for themselves in Cary-Grove’s notorious triple option offense and have gone on to earn an opportunity to play at the next level. Abrams surely fits this mold, as he runs with low pad level and physicality and can accelerate through the open lane in the blink of an eye. By the end of this season, Abrams will be on his way to being one of the top backs in the state for the Class of 2026.

Johnson is a big time recruit out of Joliet Catholic. He recently committed to Wisconsin, but before he heads off to Madison, Johnson is ready to wreck a few more games. The 6’2, 285 lb defensive tackle had another big night for the Hilltoppers, tallying a sack and a tackle for loss in a shutout victory over Marmion. Johnson has a quick first step, a strong lower base, and uses his arms well to beat opposing blockers in both the run game and the pass game. As JCA rolls into the playoffs, they have to count on guys like Johnson to eliminate opposing teams rushing attacks, and Johnson is certainly up for the challenge.

Owen Thulin
Owen Thulin
The senior defensive back from Downers Grove North is having quite the final campaign. While Thulin burst onto the scene last year, he’s following up his impressive junior year with an even better senior season. Thulin once again shined on Friday in a victory over Hinsdale South, snatching 3 interceptions and scoring a touchdown on offense. Excelling at both wide receiver and corner, Thulin moves in and out of breaks quickly and adjusts to the ball in a hurry. He is highly instinctual and showcases incredible ball skills. It really doesn’t matter which side of the ball he’s playing. If it’s thrown his direction, odds are Thulin will come down with it.
