The junior wide out from Plainfield East kept the Bengals in the game all night long. Ultimately, East fell to Joliet West by 2. However, Morris’ night can’t be overshadowed. The speedy wide receiver accounted for 125 yards on 10 receptions, while scoring once. Morris measures in at 6’0, 170 lbs and showcases elite speed, quick acceleration, and a shiftiness in the open field that makes him extremely difficult to tackle. In addition to these skills, Morris is a crisp route runner and has smooth hands. This junior will continue to make plays throughout the rest of this season and next.

Morris did it all for Plainfield East’s offense in his sophomore campaign. The 6’0, 170 lbs wide receiver showcased elite speed and shiftiness last year. Morris is a true vertical threat. He can outrun nearly any defender trying to cover or tackle him. On deep balls, he glides underneath throws with ease and makes difficult catches look not so difficult. On screens, he can put a move on a defender to shake lose and beat the next one down the sideline for a house call. And on jet sweeps, good luck catching Morris once he hits the edge. With spectacular hands and impressive body control, Morris will be a do-it-all wide receiver for the Bengals in his junior season.

Mr. Morris is another up-and-coming Bengal that already holds a handful of P5 Offers in the BIG10. On Friday night, we saw flashes of the playmaking abilities that this young man has as the Bengal’s offense wasn’t able to get to full gear. Even so, the threat he poses running jet sweeps and in the air attack are going to cause defensive coordinators headaches. There’s a play below where he’s in QB scramble drill and he works back towards the ball to keep the chains moving. Overall, his ability to go up for 50/50 balls on deep shots downfield and be a deep threat in this offense is what you’re going to want to focus on this fall. He wasn’t able to capitalize as much as he wanted to in this game, but keep a close eye as I’m willing to say he’s going to turn heads this fall. Twitter
