- a name I heard for some time, now has enough tape to see a ranking in the near future.
- Completing just under 65% of his passes, 750+ yards, and seven scores to go with the production through the air.
Doesn’t struggle in areas young passers usually find difficult early on in their careers. Red zone efficiency in terms of completing passes and making correct choices. Seeing the field in terms of coverage, Fontanez clearly has an understanding of where he should go with the ball pre/post-snap. Unafraid to give his targets a ball downfield, especially toward the middle of the field, loves to test posts and seam benders in front of him. Has a massive gallop hitch, heel-click that gives away his intentions. Involved in some zone-read mesh concepts with his back, is more than willing to tuck and create. If he’s going to be a successful dual-threat capable prospect, he’s going to need to hit the weight room a bit to fill out. I am nitpicking on a young passer only because this kid shows promise. Love that he’s winning early and often as a starter.

- an unassuming 5’10, 165 pounds
- sophomore out of Panther Valley HS
Displays a 3-minute mid-season tape that shows off a production line of 16 receptions, 320+ yards, and three scores. The coaching staff trusts him to be the recipient of double moves. Works primarily out of the slot and wins on many passing concepts that attempt to catch secondaries sleeping. Comes away with balls that the QB had no business throwing, good concentration skills. Is an out-route eater, works with the sideline well. Not overtly special with the ball in his hands, this kid just gets open. I’d comfortably call his hands reliable. Could end up with 600-700+ yards by the season’s end.

- has two separate Hudls showcasing what he can provide on both sides of the ball. I don’t recommend dual-highlight tapes, so I took a peek at the longer mid-season defensive tape. Love his work early in reps, will have more reps of him finishing and registering sacks and TFLs later in the year. Starts off with a fantastic get-off that throttles with power over speed. The get-off doesn’t impress in terms of snap-to-contact time, moreso what how far he can push back linemen in a quick timeframe. The first throttle gives Budzilek a window to shed, he does so well. On tape, ball carriers will often be staring Budzilek dead to rights right at the handoff point. Budzilek deters the initial route of many run plays because of this penetration. Some might see a lack of production or finish ability, I see an IDL that is winning more times than not, which is a plus, of course.

A fine right tackle prospect out of Gateway HS. An underclassman showing promise both from a height/weight perspective, as well as on tape. Has a good blend of pass-pro and run-blo sets on his mid-season tape. Not blown away by his reps, but I am impressed nonetheless, especially considering this is an entirely new name to me. He keeps this up and’ll earn a spot on our lists/ranks. Blocks down the LOS well. Trunks for thighs, lot of lower body weight, relies on this strength to win in pass-pro reps. Could be a name down the line, looks raw in terms of technique and throttle moves, just a big, strong kid out there who is nimble enough to be a factor as a pulling RT. Impressed.

- pound-for-pound one of the better tacklers under 5’10. Unassuming frame, barely 170 pounds, small but understands leverage use and tackling angles as well as anyone. Good awareness sets him up to succeed, Bowers triggers his feet to hunt without false steps, he’s a phenomenal backer that will be limited by his size. One thing’s for sure, Bowers is doing everything he can to negate any immediate shrug-offs from coaches checking out Central York. Great job evading initial blocking attempts headed toward his MLB spot. Flashes DB early in reps, flips the switch to LB in a flash, I like his toughness. Will check back in at the season’s end.
Sa’iyd Harper Haines

- 6’1, 165
- 6.0 sacks registered through five games.
- can operate out of a three-point stance or with his hand off the dirt. Witnessed on tape being equally effective head-up on strong-side edge blockers (OT/TEs) as well as being kicked out wide in a true EDGE rusher split. This young man out of South Philly is genuinely intriguing, mostly because he’s winning against tackles and tight ends that have to outweigh him by 20+ pounds at the least. Getting Harper-Haines to 185 pounds is a must, he can begin winning reps both with power and speed so long as he puts some weight on. Either way, this kid’s motor is revving on tape, he’s a tough chest plate to get a hold of. The sack totals are significant, I’m more impressed with how involved he is on each rep, whether it be a stop in run support behind the LOS, or help cleaning up tackles made by teammates. Putting out a complete mid-season tape is a must, cut-ups won’t cut it. That being said, I consider myself a fan who will keep tabs on him each week moving forward.

- have been waiting on film out of the junior Valley View passer, we’ve got some now.
- 6’0, 180
- 400+ yards, 5 TDs, just under 50% completion mark through 5 games.
- No interceptions through 50+ attempts
Valley View likes to operate in several different systems, occasionally in five-wide sets out of Gun, occasionally having Malsberger work under center, they mix in some multi-TE tight formations, too. Would love for Malsberger to switch which plays come first on his tape. Early on, a ton of toss-up 50-50 balls are seen, in reality, many of the throws later on tape convey what coaches really want to see. Timing throws, throws under pressure. Most of the time, coaches want to see what prospects deem the “easy throws.” Doing the easy things consistently is much more impressive than one-off splash plays. Malsberger can provide a little of both, would love to see him in person.

Might be one of the better prospects on this list, excited to get him ranked so long as he finishes his junior season at McKeesport on the same note. Exemplary work at corner, this is his clear next-level position. Cromerdie comes away with tough interceptions through contact when stationed at corner. He sticks to his man, either at the hip when wideouts attempt to stem or in the personal space of wideouts when targeted downfield. Multiple picks, multiple touchdowns on tape through half the year. Serves as a slot threat. The McKeesport coaching staff likes to call Cromerdie’s number on offense, especially in sets that could score from far out. Cromerdie scored on a corner-post from 40+ yards out, he’s also running wheels and showing off his play-making ability when given the opportunity on offense. Involved in jet-sweeps and kick-return opportunities as well.

Boasts a ten-minute mid-season tape showcasing almost every rep through five games this season. Should be shortened, coaches don’t have time to siphon through this many reps. That being said, I’m still liking what I’m seeing. Thick build, carries a frame that can double as a lead back or a lead blocker at FB. An obvious call from the sideline to power in goal-line carries, same goes for short-yardage situations. A bulldozer of a back, going to take multiple guys to bring him down on a consistent basis. I see wildcat formations with Brookins behind center later on tape, again emphasizing short-yardage situations. Likely a candidate to score 2-3 times a game so long as the offense can get into red zone areas.
