Antonio “Tone” Fontanez is a very interesting prospect out of Liberty High School. The 6’0 | 170lb prospect started this past season at St. Frances Academy (MD). Before the season started he decided to come home and play for Liberty. This ended up being a great decision for the 2026 prospect as he lead Liberty to it’s best season in years. Due to the PIAA transfer eligibility rules he wasn’t allowed to participate in the post-season. Don’t let that take anything away from this kid though. His football IQ is extremely high. His decision making is attentive. Overall he is a great QB prospect that deserves more love on the recruiting side of things than he gets. Don’t be surprised if “Tone” and that great group of 2026’s leads Liberty to another great season in 2025!

Antonio Fontanez really turned it up on Day 2 in single-elimination play where he was one of the most consistent throwers on the day. While Fontanez was still a top performer on day 1 when we reached single-elimination play Fontanez showcased some zip and velocity on tight-window throws that we did not see on day 1. Fontanez showcased impressive ball placement and was able to hit guys in traffic in stride. Fontanez threw some balls there were in a spot that only his guy could make a play on them and he let his top playmakers make plays. Fontanez showcased good quick delivery and his ability to spread the ball all around the field showcased that he was one of the top QBs at the event.

Formerly out of Allentown Central Catholic, now at St. Francis Academy. Diamond Athletic’s Antonio Fontanez is the first of just five quarterbacks who cracked the top 30. I had about 90+ total top performers, I couldn’t keep Fontanez out of this list considering how well he performed during both days at Coatesville. A shame we didn’t get to see Fontanez perform against CTPrime or Wingmen’s defense during the playoffs of this event, Fontanez did nothing but make correct read after correct read. His program was DQ’d for a petty rule break, yet understandable from both sides. Fontanez led DA to four wins through the Two-Day event, losing just one of the five games played in total. I came away impressed. Learned a few things about his mental-makeup too. Kid is confident beyond his years, should suit him well at SFA.

- a name I heard for some time, now has enough tape to see a ranking in the near future.
- Completing just under 65% of his passes, 750+ yards, and seven scores to go with the production through the air.
Doesn’t struggle in areas young passers usually find difficult early on in their careers. Red zone efficiency in terms of completing passes and making correct choices. Seeing the field in terms of coverage, Fontanez clearly has an understanding of where he should go with the ball pre/post-snap. Unafraid to give his targets a ball downfield, especially toward the middle of the field, loves to test posts and seam benders in front of him. Has a massive gallop hitch, heel-click that gives away his intentions. Involved in some zone-read mesh concepts with his back, is more than willing to tuck and create. If he’s going to be a successful dual-threat capable prospect, he’s going to need to hit the weight room a bit to fill out. I am nitpicking on a young passer only because this kid shows promise. Love that he’s winning early and often as a starter.
