Continue ReadingPosted a 6-minute long mid-seaosn tape to Hudl, a young man I’ve had my eye on for some time now. Excels in off-coverage, many reps come with Butler stationed 7-8 yards off the ball pre-snap. Unafraid to attack screens and out routes that occupy his flat-zone, has a good quantity of reps showing off his tackling ability when this region of the field is being worked. Not a blazer at corner, but does well staying in-phase with vertical routes for the first 15-20 yards. His rep at the 2:53 mark showcases his catch-up speed. Has numerous PBUs on tape. I personally like him at corner more than wideout, yet Butler provides respectable two-way abilities for Bartram. He thinks a whole lot less at wideout, he plays free and loose, often coming away with spectacular grabs downfield. Good hand-eye coordination and the speed shows if given the opportunity.

Father Judge’s Nymeir Appling Nymeir Appling 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Father Judge | 2024 State PA and LaSalle’s Kieran Campbell Kieran Campbell 6’3″ | 230 lbs | DL La Salle College | 2024 State PA . There aren’t two more frequent prospects that I pound the table for. Posted his eight-game tape as I began writing this. I’m happy to see some of the best work/tape I’ve seen come out of Kieran Campbell Kieran Campbell 6’3″ | 230 lbs | DL La Salle College | 2024 State PA so far. Hard work comes to light, he might even be a bit more confident now as a senior and captain as well. Has four-five sacks registered in this tape, I’d imagine Campbell is close to the top of the Explorer leaderboard in this area. There’s a bit of a different gear to Campbell, especially when he’s pursuing and closing in on a target in the backfield. Just a little more juice, a little more flash than I’ve seen in the past. You can still find Campbell similarly stationed, hand on and off, OLB/EDGE/DE blend. I see many senior tail off before the season ends, I like that Campbell is still producing well.

Has a three-minute mid-season tape out, with plenty of recent footage to crack open as well. First rep is a good one, will see the relatively lean Pajuste align at right guard, pull, and kick-out a free man at the LOS. Some flexing and attitude shown too, love that out of linemen. Is a to-the-whistle battler. Has a phenomenal blitz pick-up rep on tape that got me excited, not everyday you can find a Pub lineman capable of shuffling left, punching, then reverting back right to pick up a much more agile blitzer. Impressive stuff. Blocks with his head out of the play, ton of back bend, does a good job driving with his hips. Likely a key reason MLK’s rushing attack churns up turf the way they do. Can serve as an interior tackle on defense, I like his OL reps in comparison, however.

No tape out of Bambara yet, but this is a name coaches should stash if they are looking for length at the LB position. Had the chance to watch Bambara on two separate live occasions, impressed each time. Since there’s no tape, I’d recommend any coach reading to do some digging on the young man via the NG staff. All coaches are interested in helping their prospects get looks, maybe even get a hold of some game tape. Excited to eventually crack open a senior tape out of this kid.

- 5’11, LB,
Northeast isn’t a senior-heavy program. Their future is bright with a ton of juniors and underclassmen who are ready to turn up next Fall. One Najae Davis Najae Davis 5’11” | LB Northeast | 2024 State PA caught my eye, however. He’s a gap shooter who can align weak-side or middle for the Vikings. Works through clogged lanes well. Can’t speak on his technique too much from what I see, yet I can tell he likes to hit ball carriers with all he’s got. A tone-setter that can pop his pads a bit. Has registered a ton of tackles near the LOS that could have easily gone for TFLs. He and Woodhouse make a great pair.

- bounced around from Frankford, Lincoln, now at Roman and having a great year.
- height/weight combination varies from 5’9-6’0 and 200-240 pounds.
Looks like Roman has whipped this young man into phenomenal shape. Cut-up in all the right places, hardly any baby fat, which was visible in the past. Has a six minute mid-season tape on Hudl, one of the few players I trust to play both the run and the pass. Tough to spot a possible college position, some might think he’s small for backer, I wouldn’t think so. Some might think he’s a box safety, but question his cover skills at the next level. A phenomenal blitzer, one who brings all his weight with him when he hits. Is an FCS prospect in my eyes despite the lack of heat in recruitment. One of the true position-less defenders in his class. Can stop the run between our outside of tackles. Can cover at this level, is as athletic as any backer in the state. His senior tape should sure up a lot of questions surrounding his game. Fun player.
No Twitter to be found which is a shame.

Has registered a fumble recovery for a score, has registered a pick for a score too. Interception came after reading the release of a screen headed his way. Prefer him with his hand in the dirt, Seriously impressive get-off, takes phenomenal angles to the ball carrier and/or quarterback. Love his discipline when left unblocked post-snap, tons of quality reps come from this post-snap scenario. Hope he isn’t getting lost among the stars on this defense, he’s putting up solid numbers beside some of the best defenders the state has to offer. Wonder how he would test in a camp/combine setting. Has registered over five sacks on the year which might lead the team.
West Catholic Quarterback Kal-El Durham Kal-El Durham 5’9″ | 165 lbs | QB West Catholic | 2025 State PA has completed 55+ balls on the year to date, 18+ have been caught by Owen Suah Owen Suah 5’9″ | 170 lbs | DB West Catholic Preparatory | 2024 State PA , who is the active leading receiver. Suah also has recorded the lone interception on the year, while also leading the team in pass break-ups. Yes, it’s been a tough year for West Catholic, that doesn’t mean they don’t have seniors worthy of looks from local college coaches. Suah’s mid-season tape has him seeing and tracking the ball downfield like some of the best in the city. Almost each big play on tape has Suah tracking the football until it’s in the basket. Same reps show off real body-control, need body-control to properly track downfield. He’s looking like a natural pass-catcher. I continue to bounce back and forth as to which side of the ball I like this kid on. Previous years, the interceptions have won me over. Now, senior tape has me leaning back to the offensive side of the ball. Good problem to have. This is a name worth sharing.

Has always been a play-maker since my first couple years covering the Pub. This is hardly a new name dating back to his days making plays for Future. Now at West Philly, it looks like the senior has been revitalized. A couple of weeks back, Poteat broke the single-game WP rushing record with 294 yards on just 17 carries. That alone warrants my attention, as well as attention from any coach recruiting the area. Poteat has a fun first-four. Poteat is the active man behind center for exactly the reasons I stated above, he’s a premier play-maker. He might not get recruited to play the position of course, yet the kid can still distribute the ball via screens and out routes, while damn well making kids look silly in the open field. QB bootlegs, QB draws, QB sweeps, all of this is unlocked thanks to Poteat’s prowess with the ball in his hands. I can go on and on about how much of a spark this kid is on offense, I can’t go without mentioning he can play both sides of the ball. I think Poteat’s efforts from start to finish should earn him some looks at the very least.
