Week 6’s Top Pass Rushing Performances
In a much-needed win, Old Bridge defeated Monroe 14-7 and Ruderman’s play had a lot to do with it. From his defensive line spot, Ruderman had the game of a lifetime. Ruderman made 11 tackles including 1 tackle for loss and 3 sacks.
Winslow sustained their second loss of this season on the road at Washington Township, 27-25. Between these two losses by a total of five points, the Eagles were able to rattle off five consecutive wins. An absoute terror who would ensure Winslow was not an easy out was Mccain. Mccain, a big-time defensive end prospect, made 8 tackles (7 solos), 4 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble, and 3 sacks in the game.
Pingry Prep rolled this week, 58-0 over Capital Prep from New York. Rewey had much to do with this, stifling Capital’s advances throughout the game. Rewey constantly put his opposition behind the chains as he made 3 sacks and 1 tackle for loss. Rewey finished the game with 8 tackles (5 solos).
Leath was awfully leath-al in his last game at Seneca. Although his Minutemen lost by a score, 28-21, Leath was a constant threat. In the game Leath was credited with not only 10 tackles, but he also sacked the quarterback 3 times and forced 2 fumbles.
Week 6’s Top Pass Defending Performances
In a big week 6 Oakcrest was able to even their record at 3-3 with a 20-6 victory over Egg Harbor. During this game Hunt was a total drive-killer for Oakcrest – in a good way of course. Although he made a single tackle, Hunt intercepted the ball 3 different times during the game – thwarting any momentum Egg Harbor was having and frustrating them all game long.
The battle for Woodbridge has been – decisively – won. With a 56-0 victory over cross-town rival JFK Iselin, Woodbridge defeated the two other Woodbridge Township schools by a score of 98-7. In the victory this week, Byron was a terror on defense in route to 3 interceptions and 3 solo tackles, as he was a big part of the township sweep.
McDaniels is a prospect I have been all over this year, and rightfully so. An under-the-radar but sure-fire FBS caliber talent in my opinion, shined brightest in a rivalry game this weekend. In a 28-26 upset victory over arch enemy Union, McDaniels pick-six proved to be the difference that put Elizabeth ahead for good in the game. Further, McDaniels converted a two point conversion and went 5/59/1 through the air as a receiver in a contest where he went up against one of the more lauded defensive back prospects in Renick Dorilas Renick Dorilas 5’11” | 150 lbs | DB Don Bosco | 2025 State NJ , winning the matchup. He has now scored in 4 straight games.
New Egypt needed a victory this week if they wanted to keep pace in the playoff hunt. Burgos, a sophomore defensive back, took the message personally. in the 12-7 victory at home against Pemberton, Burgos was a constant thorn in the side as he was constantly making plays on the ball in a low-scoring affair. Burgos made 8 tackles to go along with 1 forced fumble and 2 interceptions.
Week 6’s Top Run-Stuffing Performances
After reeling off 5 straight wins to start the season, Haddonfield sustained their first loss of the season at the hands of Camden, 20-7. Ryan did his absolute best in this contest to ensure that his Bulldogs stayed in this one as he made 17 tackles and 1 tackle for loss. He also pitched in on offense with three receptions for 42 yards.
Cruz had yet another game that will be talked about for his individual performance. Despite losing 33-0 to Lakeland, Cruz did his best to keep Jefferson in it as he made 16 tackles in the game in addition to 2 tackle for loss and 1 sack.
Smith was quite active in Holy Cross’ last contest. A 32-12 loss to Haddon Township, Smith was buzzing around sideline-to-sideline as he made 20 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and forced a fumble.
Although Demarest came up short, 20-7, against North Bergen, Kurys has much to be proud of when it comes to his play. Kurys was all over the field as he made 19 stops on defense. Kurys also was credited with one-half sack, 1 tackle for loss, and forced a fumble.
