rnSevume is an exciting DB who not only has the speed to run with any WR and keep them in his hip pocket but he’s got the closing speed to make a play on the ball. There are times he’s running the route for the receiver and playing a step ahead. He’s so active on the field it’s hard to miss the dynamic DB flying around and covering side to side. He knows when to be aggressive and pick his spots. He’s had a few plays perfectly timed for a pick-six jumping short routes, and then the 1 INT he didn’t drop was returned for 65 yards. Sevume does his best work breaking up passes when they’re thrown his way. His timing is good and he’s got good instincts, but more importantly seems like he loves playing out on that island. His 33 tackles, 1 INT, and 11 passes deflected through 8 games show what he’s capable of to a degree, but this is Sevume’s coming out party. He could be one of the best DBs in the state by this time next year.

Highlights
rnOjata doesn’t take long to impress once you see him, and once the rumor gets out about this 6’5″ explosive athlete dripping with upside, it’ll travel far. His length is incredible, but then he’s not just an explosive athlete, but he has fantastic twitch and the ability to shift and move his body in sudden ways other guys just can’t. There’s no doubt that when you’re talking about the elite Defensive Ends, Ojata is a bit raw, but he’s exciting and you see the upside all day. He feels like one of those wind-up toys you wind up and then just let go. Ojata could be the perfect guy to give Tackles at the next level trouble all day long rushing the passer. He’s also shown a willingness and consistent ability to play the run. On the season he’s got 20 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 TFLs, 1 Forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Ojata is developing, yet making plays and showing some potentially special traits, which should shoot him up boards everywhere.

rnWalden is a first-year starter who is beginning to find his stride and realize how good he can be. He’s a really good athlete and does a good job using that speed to keep the defense on its toes. He’s willing to push the ball downfield as well, so it’s not like they can just come up and take away his legs because he throws it over the top. His accuracy could use work, but you can see the arm talent. He’s getting his footwork and mechanics underneath him still, but once he does he’s a guy who could be nearly unstoppable. They already sit at 7-1, and Walden has his share in that, to say the least. He’s only completing 57% of his throws, but it’s year 1, he’s made some incredible throws in that process, and he’s moving the ball with his legs. 971 passing yards and 12 TDs with his 958 yards and 10 TDs on the ground has Walden in the driver’s seat for one of the breakout candidates of the year. He’s got a fantastic build and despite all the running, has shown he’ll stand in the pocket and deliver a strike while he gets hit. Walden should pick up as much traction as anyone in the coming weeks because he’s fun to watch and has a ceiling most other guys dream of.
