Early on this 2023 season, Baker has been outstanding and besides a loss last week to a very good Brentwood team, the Commandos signal caller has been a dynamic playmaker along with showing off improved arm talent. What Baker brings to the table is poise, football smarts and dual threat abilities that can be groomed further on the next level. This Mid-Tennessee quarterback has been difficult for opposing defenses to handle due to his speed when running and his ability to push the ball deep with his arm. He does need to continue developing further his passing abilities but you can see the upside with his arm and the improvement seen in that area so far this season. Baker has been picking up steam too on the recruiting trail, so it will be interesting to see where he lands at the end of this process.
Many people may not know too much about this Memphis area running back but Mason is a ball player that has athletic traits and speed that translate well to the college game. He has taken his game to another level so far through three games where the Bulldogs running back sits within the Top 5 rushers currently from the greater Memphis area. Mason is a well compact runner with a nice balance of strength and speed. He has the ability to make one cut and be gone while also having the skills to catch the ball out of the backfield too. This West Tennessee is talented enough to develop at defensive back as well if needed. Mason is currently under the radar but if he continues to play at the level he is, college coaches will have to start paying attention to him.

Davila has had a breakout show thus far through three games where he has produced two game winning touchdowns for his Admirals team as well as displaying outstanding hands and the ability to beat his man deep. This current Virginia Tech baseball commit is starting to turn himself into a possible D1 talent on the football field with continued progress this season and someone with the upside to get better once he arrives on a college campus. Davila is a big dude with a wide radius that can box out his defender, use his vert or simply out physical his opponent to get the ball. He is also sneaky fast with enough speed to get around the defensive back and work deep. If Davila does look harder into the football route, I’ll be curious to see where his recruitment goes as this East Tennessee wideout has the physical traits and talents to excel on the next level.

One of the fastest wideouts from our #TN2024 class, Rembert has displayed that speed and then some through three games and a prospect that I believe can take another step with his recruitment with continued strong play over the course of the season. What you like most about Rembert is of course his speed but it’s his ability to haul in the pass and immediately get up field with a quickness that I like the most. His ability to run after the catch is sensational and once he gets into the open field, the Wildcats senior playmaker is hard to catch up with. Rembert is a perfect option to play in the slot but because of his athleticism and speed, he could work outside as well if needed. You could even place him on special teams too as a gunner or return man. There is a lot of value residing within this East TN talent that I think more schools will recognize sooner than later.

Barham is a man among boys on the football field and so far through the 2023 season, he has dominated the game as a pass catcher that opponents have no answer for. The Eagles senior tight end has increased his overall football knowledge as it shows on film along with his athleticism that allows him to play out wide. Barham has put up some big numbers so far through three games and I see no reason why he won’t continue to dominate the field as there aren’t many players out there big enough to guard him. Where this West TN talent has to continue developing is his in-line blocking as I expect college coaches are looking at Barham for tight end on the next level. His athleticism and pass catching abilities allow him to flex out as well, so this is just tons of value and upside residing with this 6’4 235 pound receiver.

You don’t see offensive linemen make lists like this early within the season but Smith has been excellent thus far through three games and a prospect collegiate coaches need to look at harder. The Bobcats senior lineman has shown improved burst and explosion coming off the line along with excellent balance while finishing with violence. Smith is a naturally powerful young man that will only get bigger and stronger as he reaches the collegiate level but he also has good lower body athleticism that could allow him to play tackle. His versatility to handle multiple positions brings value to the playing field as Smith is more built like a guard but has the mobility to develop on the outside as well. I’m interested to follow his progression the rest of this year as I think Smith could be a late riser on the recruiting trail.

Even though Giles Co. has started their season at 1-2, it hasn’t been the lack of play from Turner as he has been outstanding, the best player on the Bobcats team and still a sleeper to contend for Class 3A Mr. Football. He has been that dynamic so far as the Mid-TN talent has put up big numbers through the air at receiver while also producing big runs from the backfield. What Turner brings to the football field is a high level of versatility along with excellent football intelligence. He plays a consistent brand of football while sporting a great feel for the game. The Bobcats senior is a bit undersized in height but trust me, this guy can play as he brings more than just talent to your football team but Turner also brings character, hard work and dedication to the sport that every coach loves.
