A mismatch problem for smaller defenders, Barham is a big and athletic pass catcher that stepped up his senior season and took his game to another level as he is now committed to Troy and headed for D1 ball next year. The Eagles senior big man has formed into his body nicely over the last year to fully embrace the tight end position but Barham is still athletic enough to flex him out wide and work him down field. Many occasions in the Chester Co. offense, Barham was used in the slot or sometimes out wide to use his size as an advantage over the opposition. He does need to keep working on his blocking as that will be expected of him at Troy but Barham has the physical size and strength to develop well in that area. The Trojans are getting a prospect that I feel was way under the radar during this process but has the upside to turn into a possible All-Conference talent during his time at Troy.

Barham bursted out onto the scene last year as a junior, putting up big numbers but so far through his senior season, he looks even better and though his numbers aren’t as large right now, you can see on film where this West TN pass catcher has improved. The Eagles tight end is like a man among boys each and every Friday night as Barham is an imposing receiver that plays detached from the line mainly in his Chester Co. offense but has the physical build and upside to become a solid in-line blocker. This is an athletic guy that can play in open space and is tough to bring down due to his power and strength. He has good speed too, though he does need to increase that trait further. Barham is a natural pass catcher that has tremendous upside on the next level as I feel his best football days are ahead of him on the collegiate gridiron. Barham is a man among boys on the football field and so far through the 2023 season, he has dominated the game as a pass catcher that opponents have no answer for. The Eagles senior tight end has increased his overall football knowledge as it shows on film along with his athleticism that allows him to play out wide. Barham has put up some big numbers so far through three games and I see no reason why he won’t continue to dominate the field as there aren’t many players out there big enough to guard him. Where this West TN talent has to continue developing is his in-line blocking as I expect college coaches are looking at Barham for tight end on the next level. His athleticism and pass catching abilities allow him to flex out as well, so this is just tons of value and upside residing with this 6’4 235 pound receiver.

primarily player wide receiver at Chester County High School but his skill set translates to being a tight end at the next level. He is a very good athlete and excels working vertically down the field. Good speed tracking allow him to win on a vertical plane. Barham is a strong red zone threat using his frame to box out DB’s. Good in contested catch situations, Barham uses his play strength and catch radius to make spectacular plays on errant throws.

His competitiveness and knack for high-pointing the ball allow him to play bigger than his size. Does a nice job locating and tracking deep passes and is a legitimate vertical threat. Willing to go up and attack the ball. Combines speed, balance, quickness, vision and crisp cuts to leave defensive backs and linebackers in the dust. He’s coordinated with soft, reliable hands, and Barham shows the ability to adjust to balls thrown behind him, as well as a knack for digging out low throws.

Coming out of a small area from the West Tennessee region, Barham is a hidden gem with college level physical traits and abilities but currently sits without an offer and under the radar. Maybe a strong showing during college camp season will take this athletic pass catcher from out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Barham is a big, physically imposing guy that can catch and run like a receiver but translates best to the next level at tight end. This guy is one of the best in the state at contested catches, regardless of position with the ability to play in the slot or develop on the line. The Cougars senior prospect has the physical upside to become a good pass blocker in college. There are a lot of tools here to like about Barham and why I think this is a D1 talent waiting to be found.

Scouting Report: A little known prospect from West Tennessee that sports great size and nice athletic upside, Barham is an intriguing talent that brings a lot of playmaking potential to the football field as a mismatch pass catcher that can excel in a variety of ways. For his Eagles offense, Barham mainly lines up out in the slot or sometimes out wide, using his physicality, size and strong hands to dominate smaller defensive backs. He does a good job of squaring up his defender and boxing him out, making sure he is the only one coming down with the ball. Barham also has the athleticism and enough speed to get around his defender and beat him deep while maintaining his physical dominance. What makes Barham so intriguing as a possible college tight end is his raw, untapped abilities that will only develop further over time, which makes this West Tennessee product a very recruitable prospect due to his potential on the next level. Not many tight ends in this state, within the #TN2024 class have the natural athletic and physical abilities that Barham possesses. When he lines up as a receiver, he immediately becomes a problem for the opposing defense that must be accounted for and once the ball is in his hands, Barham is a very tough guy to bring down. He is also a big time red zone threat due to his strong vertical leap and physicality. Barham can go up high, using his athleticism and physical nature to snatch the ball away from the defender. The one area where Barham will need more development is his in-line blocking. Throughout his Eagles career, Barham has mainly played outside at receiver, so playing in the trenches isn’t something he’s been asked to do too much of as of yet. He has the physical makeup and overall size to block on the line, it’s just a matter of experience and time. Barham has yet to see his recruitment take off but I think it will over the coming months as coaches view him in person then watch him perform during camp season. This is an under the radar talent to definitely keep an eye on moving forward.College Projection: D1, FCS
