As we are officially 1/3 of the way through the regular season, we’re going to highlight a few players that have been raising their stock so far.
As expected, Terry is having himself an incredible year. He’s been everything he has been hyped up to be. Terry has helped get his Grandville Bulldogs to a respectable 2-1 record, with some solid teams coming up that present great opportunities to do it against some of the best in the state. Already sitting at over 600 yards and 8 TDs through 3 weeks, Jayden has been one of the best RB prospects I can remember, and has solidified his D1 potential grade. With some tough competition ahead, I think the bright lights will only help him shine. I look forward to seeing what else Jayden and this Grandville squad can accomplish. Spring Lake is off to a fantastic start, and a lot of that comes down to the QB position. He has taken a clear step up and has led a solid offensive attack to a 3-0 start. His highlights to me stick out as a clear sign of the hard work he has put in. His arm strength has improved, he’s much more comfortable in the pocket, and also showing a good ability to get things done on the ground when the situation arises. Reid is someone who has been on my radar for awhile now, and I truly believe he is going to be a Saturday guy, and this season he is really starting to show his true potential. His Hudl has a few good clips from weeks 1-3 showing some impressive talent: http://www.hudl.com/v/2LgyJp

Jackson Conn
Jackson Conn
Ithaca is a threat, and maybe a favorite, in D8. That thought really stems from the unusually potent passing attack that isn’t normally seen in some of the smaller divisions. Jackson Conn has been absolutely lethal, slinging the ball all over the yard through the first 3 weeks of the young season. When I got the chance to see him play in person in week 2, Conn threw for over 400 yards, and 5 touchdowns. He has a very pure throwing motion, makes good decisions, and is very accurate. He sees the field really clearly, and typically puts the ball where the WR is going to be before he can even get there. Jackson is leading a high flying offense scoring about 53 PPG through 3 weeks. Here are the highlights from the week 2 game I attended: http://www.hudl.com/v/2LX5FR
Bethune has been all over the field for Summit. He’s been a fantastic 2 way player, breaking loose and scoring touchdowns on offense, and creating absolute chaos on defense. It’s no surprise, given how much work he has been putting in, but it is great to see it all starting to pay off. He’s a strong and explosive athlete that shows off his power on both sides of the ball. He loves to put his shoulder down and initiate contact when carrying the ball, and defensively he’s as sure of a tackler as they come. Week 1-3 Hudl for him shows just how versatile he can be. http://www.hudl.com/v/2LexH4

Jack Mullins
Jack Mullins
Mullins is off to a super solid start, and colleges are absolutely starting to take notice. He is starting to pull in D3 attention, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he was able to sneak onto a D2 roster. He is a sure tackler, and has the speed to play side to side and make plays anywhere. What also surprised me was his ability in pass coverage. He seemed really natural dropping back, reading the play with ease, reacting and breaking to his spot. Another nice thing to see from a linebacker is he never plays out of control. Jack flies to his spot, but is really good about not over pursuing and running by the play. He shows a great ability to break down and make the play as it comes to him. As far as technique goes, this guy has definitely put in the work to make sure he plays the position extremely well. I hope he can get into a solid program at the next level that continues to develop his abilities. http://www.hudl.com/v/2LdUt5
