The Oregon 2027 Watch List was recently released, with Al Popadines once again doing a phenomenal job of evaluating and breaking down the state's top middle school talent.

There is obviously a lot yet to be determined with these athletes just heading into high school but have a look at a few individuals who could be considered Oregon's best in the not-so-distant future.

OFFENSE

*No Particular Order... Athletes will only be listed on one side of the ball

[player_tooltip player_id='709506' first='Deckard' last='Hale'] 6-0 185 RB/LB Grant

Hale has unreal 8th grade film, looking like a man amongst boys. He is listed at LB on the PRZ rankings board and may project there. That said as he was dominant running the ball and could be a varsity all conference starter on O & D as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='937176' first='Malachi' last='Garlington'] 6-1 155 WR Central Catholic

One well known trainer compared Garlington to Michigan WR Darrius Clemons. The Rams continue to draw the state's top young talent from a variety of places. Malachi has the potential of being a big-time recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id='652600' first='Carson' last='Smiley'] 5-11 160 QB West Linn

Look for Smiley to hit a nice growth spurt with his brother [player_tooltip player_id='406767' first='Wyatt' last='Smiley'] (6-3 175) being one of the top WR's in Oregon. Carson will lead a 2027 Lions group that hasn't lost and will likely dominate the state in the years ahead.

[player_tooltip player_id='1095838' first='Jack' last='Brauckmiller'] 6-5 190 WR/TE Canby

Brauckmiller will be a major D1 recruit in multiple sports (baseball). He has been compared to the likes of Colt Lyerla, one of the best players ever to come out of the state. At 6-5, and super athletic, it won't take long for universities to become aware.

[player_tooltip player_id='936892' first='Manny' last='Ehinger'] 6-2 190 QB Lakeridge

The Oregon baseball commit comes from a talented family and is one of the best anywhere on the diamond. He has great size and overall athleticism and could be that X factor for a loaded Pacers program at QB.

[player_tooltip player_id='797128' first='Cameron' last='Elijah'] 5-8 135 WR Lake Oswego

Elijah has the potential of being one of the top slot's in the NW. His ability to maneuver and get out of his breaks is unique. He did well as part of Team Lillard and at the Oregon all state game, while making the move from Putnam over to LO.

[player_tooltip player_id='426586' first='Peyton' last='Eveland'] 6-6 280 OL Redmond

The brother of 2X NWOC Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id='285851' first='Jace' last='Eveland']. I would expect Peyton to start as a freshman for Redmond and team with his brother to give the Panthers a real shot in the IMC. The size alone is impressive, but both kids have their act together on the field and will draw a lot of attention from universities.

[player_tooltip player_id='936935' first='Nick' last='Normington'] 5-8 150 ATH Central Catholic

Some of the better film around. Normington looked the part for Grant during his 8th grade season and will project as one of the most versatile kids in Oregon. The Rams scored big here.

[player_tooltip player_id='1119870' first='Jamison' last='Walsh'] 6-3 190 TE Cascade

Expect Walsh to be one of the top ranked players in the state and a multi offer D1 kid. He projects as a 6-6 220-pound tight end, coming from an incredibly impressive family, with both parents being standouts at Oregon St (Football & Volleyball).

[player_tooltip player_id='937178' first='Armahni' last='Croxford'] 6-0 145 WR Central Catholic Croxford could play early for the Rams with continued growth and progression. The 3-sport athlete did well as part of Team Lillard, running some of the most impressive routes among the youth.

[player_tooltip player_id='887126' first='Landon' last='Fray'] 6-5 285 OL Gresham

You can't teach the size. Fray will likely play immediately for the Gophers who have struggled as a team. If he can grow into his body and continue to improve from a mobility standpoint, the sky's the limit.

[player_tooltip player_id='937233' first='Sloan' last='Baker'] 5-9 150 QB West Linn

Not the biggest kid but an outstanding overall athlete who had an MVP type performance at the all state game in June. We will see how things unfold with the Lions loaded roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='796694' first='Jordan' last='Rossetta'] 6-2 185 QB Grants Pass

Remember this kid's name. GP has produced some of Oregon's top athletes over the years and this could be another one. Rossetta did well at the all state game and is equally talented on the baseball field.

[player_tooltip player_id='876300' first='Xavior' last='Keller'] 5-7 140 WR North Salem

Keller was a standout at the Oregon all state game, catching 7 passes with a TD. North is one of the most improved and fastest rising programs in the state. With all the talent on the perimeter they will need to throw the ball more.

[player_tooltip player_id='937311' first='Alexander' last='Mishkin'] 6-2 245 OL Central Catholic

One of the top young lineman around. CC has been a factory for the state's top big men over the last decade and Mishkin has the potential to be a good one.

[player_tooltip player_id='935311' first='Javien' last='Parker'] 6-2 185 ATH/WR Dallas

I could see Parker playing as a freshman for the 5A Dragons, bringing legit size to the table. He received numerous accolades during youth ball and is a kid we will likely hear a lot about.

[player_tooltip player_id='937182' first='Arrelious' last='Peterson'] 5-11 160 WR/S Tigard

Peterson could break out and be one of the best in the Oregon. He is a two-sport standout, and a big reason Tigard's future looks so bright.

[player_tooltip player_id='936850' first='Hank' last='Whitworth'] 6-0 145 QB/K Westview

There have been numerous changes and departures within the Westview program recently, but Whitworth projects as one of the best in the Metro and could play early for the Cats.

[player_tooltip player_id='937230' first='Aaim' last='Gilchrist'] 5-11 140 WR Sprague

There have been numerous changes at Sprague with AJ Robinson taking over the program. Gilchrist could be a big part of their future, looking good at a UO camp over the off season.

[player_tooltip player_id='937304' first='Kane' last='Eaton'] 6-1 250 OL Sherwood

A lot will be determined by continued growth, but Eaton has good size and can play on either side of the ball. Sherwood is an ideal spot as I could see him being a starter by his sophomore year.

[player_tooltip player_id='796643' first='Hudson' last='Holcomb'] 6-3 240 OL Santiam Christian
Look for Holcomb to be one of the best at the 3A level and play early. He has great size and will be a luxury for the small Oregon school.
