Hale brought toughness and versatility to the Grant backfield, finishing with five rushing touchdowns and emerging as the centerpiece of the Generals’ run game. His ability to create yards after contact was crucial behind a young offensive line. Hale also contributed heavily on defense later in the article, showcasing his all-around value. With another offseason of growth ahead, he returns as one of the PIL’s most promising two-way juniors.
Hale is a kid who has the athleticism and frame to blow up. There is a reason we have him ranked as highly as we do. Hale will likely take a more prominent role on offense next season, but he has already proven to be one of the best linebackers in the state. I can’t wait to watch him develop.
Deckard is one of the most impressive sophomores in the state. His size and athleticism combined make him a fantastic linebacker. He is a top-ten talent for us in his class and has the potential to be a D1 player. Grant, unfortunately, does not have the most talent around Deckard, and even though they finished the year a respectable 3-6, the PIL does not get enough love for them to sneak into the top 28. I cannot wait to see Deckard’s development throughout these next couple of years.
