After a grand total of 12 teams battled in the jamboree, here’s my list of some of the top teams and top performers.
Donelson Christian Academy
Kickstarting the jamboree was Donelson Christian Academy, one of the most explosive teams that scrimmaged on Friday afternoon, blasting Houston County’s defense in the first half of play. After a commanding performance in the first half, the Wildcats entered the locker room with a 13-0 lead over the Fighting Irish. There is a lot to love about Donelson Christian Academy both offensively and defensively as they operate well as a complete unit. The Wildcats are definitely not a team to sleep on this upcoming fall.
Davidson Academy
Davidson Academy also made their presence known during the preseason showcase as they proved their offensive strength down the stretch against Station Camp High School. The Bears proved to be too much for the Bison to handle thanks in part to an impressive catch and run from senior athlete TJ Peaks that resulted in a touchdown. Entering this upcoming season, the Bears are looking like a well-organized group to watch out for on the field.
Kirkwood
Kirkwood High School additionally made a significant impact early on in their scrimmage against Greenbrier High School, striking first Kirkwood thanks to an impressive catch and run from rising junior athlete Perry Cross-Snead Perry Cross-Snead 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Kirkwood | 2025 TN , who broke several tackles en route to the endzone. After showing off a strong passing game and a wide array of offensive playmakers, Kirkwood is looking like a strong team to keep an eye on this upcoming season.
Greenbrier
Another solid team that caught my attention was Greenbrier High School as the Bobcats showed off their strength on the field, bouncing back from the one-score to deficit to tie things up 7-7 at the half. Despite heavy defensive pressure from Kirkwood’s defense, the Bobcats put a touchdown on the board off an impressive touchdown pass to senior athlete Nate Castleman, who went diving into the endzone to make the catch.
Rossview
I was also impressed with Rossview High School as the Hawks proved to be the better team in the second half of play in their matchup with Springfield High School. The Hawks slipped past the Yellow Jackets 14-7 thanks to a late surge from Rossview’s offense. The team’s top performer was undoubtedly senior quarterback Hezekiah Scott as he used his legs to escape the defense and punch in a last-minute score. The Hawks will definitely be another intriguing team to watch for this upcoming season.
