2023 Season Preview Forest Park

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Forest Park Bruins finished 2022 at 6-5 and bowed out in the first round of districts to John Champe in a hard fought battle. The Bruins finished the regular season on a 4 game winning streak with victories over Woodbridge, Garfield and Hylton included. The second team all district defensive end really stood out at the Showcase event this past spring, he was nearly unblockable during the 1 on 1 reps. He played his junior year at 205 lbs. and as he has mentioned to me on twitter he has gained close to 15 lbs. of muscle this off-season which will surely attract FCS and FBS offers. Perry plays the game hard and fast, they move him around a lot defensively and he is at his best when he is rushing the passer. He has accumulated offers from Wheeling and Stevenson with more coming as schools such as Howard University have to be very interested. Wright is a 6'5 275 lb. junior who is already garnering interest from FBS schools such as Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, and when you watch his film you can see why. He is a very versatile physical lineman that the Bruins can pull and can count on him having a pancake block. Love his competitiveness on each snap, would like for him to continue on coming off the ball lower because when he does not many defenders stand a chance. Campbell makes plays at receiver for Forest Park constantly obtaining yards after the catch and you can see his 4.47 40 speed on the field. The Bruins love to send him on bubble routes and watch him use his elite speed and quick hips to make defenders look silly. He is also too fast for most corners to match up with at the line of scrimmage, I expect a major senior season from Campbell. The way he tracks down interceptions is very impressive, he look like a centerfielder at times when he does. Nabbing over 5 ints as a junior has gotten him interest from a number of division 2 schools, but I believe his ceiling is closer to the FCS level. He has a quick burst from the handoff and particularly when he lines up behind fellow junior [player_tooltip player_id='1228338' first='Nathaniel' last='Wright'] you can see it up close.  He is a stout outside linebacker for the Bruins defense in what should lead to a nice junior season. Much like his teammate Campbell the Bruins love to use him in their quick game package and he has good speed and strength to make plays after the catch. A mean sideline to sideline presence in the middle of their defense this young man fly's to the football on every snap. They're early season schedule does them no favors and with all the talent they have offensively, will whomever who is at quarterback be able to get everyone enough touches. Coach Robinette has been at this for a long time and is building something special over their in Woodbridge, I am confident the Bruins will finish with 7 or more wins in 2023. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
