Continue ReadingWe can’t speak on the 2023 Friars without first mentioning one of the best, if not the best, pass-rushers the state has to offer 11.5 sacks, damn near a sack a game registered by Penn State commit Mylachi Williams Mylachi Williams 6’5″ | 220 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA . The young man capitalized on all things, we got to see hard work and natural gifts work in tandem to create a premier prospect, one that has climbed the ranks to get where he is today. He took things up a notch on all facets of the game. Lifting, tape, production, Williams set the standard as a junior, now holds a high bar for any junior or underclassman on his team looking to replicate the success he’s had throughout the years.

Mylachi Williams Mylachi Williams 6’5″ | 220 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA might receive fanfare because of his recruiting status, all deserved. Yet the reigning Catholic League Blue Division MVP is back to bolster an already loaded lineup. That being Isaiah Session Isaiah Session 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Monsignor Bonner | 2024 State PA , who is criminally under-ranked on our site.
5’10, 165, 340+ rushing yards, 11 TDs, team-leading 90 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, team-leading 35 TFLs registered. 3.6 GPA.
Will likely be back in the backfield for another year, paired with Avery Hankey Avery Hankey 5’8″ | 175 lbs | RB Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA . One of the toughest football players I’ve come across, pound-for-pound. Heavy trench work on both sides of the football has Session taking a willing beating week-in and week-out, while also dishing out beatings of his own. I haven’t heard much in the form of recruiting, yet another year of similar production should get the attention of local colleges. Williams and Session in the front-seven is a tough combo to gameplan against, whether you want to run the ball or throw.

Rank is projection, as Brandon Davis Brandon Davis 6’0″ | 195 lbs | DL Bonner Prendie | 2024 State PA has not registered anywhere near the production levels Avery Hankey Avery Hankey 5’8″ | 175 lbs | RB Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA or Wykil Fowler Wykil Fowler 5’10” | 160 lbs | DB Monsignor Bonner | 2024 State PA have for the Friars. Davis’ tape doesn’t spotlight substantial reps either. That being said, we are excited to see what the young man can blossom into, potentially rushing the passer opposite of Mylachi Williams Mylachi Williams 6’5″ | 220 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA . I imagine he’s going to have to earn that spot, with an apparent special 26 and 27 class waiting in the background.
6’2, 215-pounds, 4.81 GPA. Could see reps at TE as well.
Highlights
11 scores on the ground, 1100+ yards on the ground accumulated last Fall. Hard to imagine there are 40 better backs in the state, or any that could mimic this production in the PCL Blue. Low center of gravity, 5’8 but 175 pounds, the kid provides a thicker build opposite that of Session. Natural feel for the position, natural patience prior to hitting holes between the tackles. Despite his short stride, Hankey has plenty of reps ripping off runs of 20+ yards or more. Can be deemed a home-run hitter. Can be utilized as a goal-line back because of his balance and toughness, yet again, many of his scores come from 15+ yards out. Excited to see he and Session carve up defenses, so long as the big men up-front can move kids like they did last Fall.
34 tackles to his name, a team-leading two interceptions, a good number of PBUs, and a productive special teams contributor. Excited to see how Wykil Fowler Wykil Fowler 5’10” | 160 lbs | DB Monsignor Bonner | 2024 State PA ‘s role might expand as a senior DB/ATH. Registered both interceptions against Archbishop Ryan last Fall. An opportune safety who can contribute in run support if need be. An all-around opportune prospect who should earn the trust of the coaching staff. He should be the lead voice in the DB room along with sophomore standout Dylan Abram Dylan Abram 6’0″ | 160 lbs | DB Imhotep Charter | 2026 State PA s.
A senior prospect I’m interested in. No tape throughout the years, yet could be a contributor as a senior. Got a chance to see him work at one of our camps and liked how he moved. Currently on watchlist without enough tape to rank or eval currently.
One of three wideouts sitting atop the 2025 state rankings. Very interested in seeing if Bonner decides to have him rush the passer coupled with Mylachi Williams Mylachi Williams 6’5″ | 220 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA . The Jalil Hall Jalil Hall 6’4″ | 190 lbs | WR Bonner & Prendie | 2025 State PA 2022 tape shows off some quality reps off the edge, he’s registered 4+ sacks in his career. Coupling two 6’4 monsters off the edge might be too enticing for the Friar coaching staff. All this being said, Hall will likely have a new quarterback under center, bolstering his chances of once again shining as the team’s leading receiver and pass-catcher. 30+ receptions, 13 of which went for scores. 600+ yards to his name. With Gatling or Campbell likely seeing time behind center, you can make the case that Hall could either replicate or progress past his 2022 numbers. I will say, if any of the young passers can put up 1,200+ yards and 20 TDs like Justin Shepherd did, I think we’d all call that a successful freshman campaign. We hope to see Hall cement his spot as a top 20 overall prospect in his class.

Saleem Starkey Saleem Starkey LB Bonner- Prendie | 2025 PA posts a Hudl tape that I wouldn’t call ideal. Ton of Slow-mo, half-finished reps. I wonder if he will see an expanded role as an upperclassman. To hold onto his relatively low ranking, he’ll have to register real production and put forth substantial tape.
Transfer out of Cardinal O’Hara who could replace some offensice production created by Coneys and Saie. Watching his 4-minute tape as a Lion last Fall has me thinking teams will have serious trouble containing both Hall and Coleman so long as they have a reliable passer in the backfield. Coleman can provide a little of everything, I especially like his ball-tracking ability when attacking a defense vertically.
Christian Jones Christian Jones 5’8″ | 155 lbs | WR Bonner-Prendie | 2025 State PA and Dylan Spriddle Dylan Spriddle 5’11” | 165 lbs | DB Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast | 2025 State PA are both in similar situations as Saleem Starkey Saleem Starkey LB Bonner- Prendie | 2025 PA . Not much production, not much tape to dissect, yet I imagine these kids could grow into larger roles moving forward. AJ Saie, Jaylen Johnson, Zac Coneys, all of these names are no longer in the building. One of these young men is going to have to step up to the plate.

The third prospect deployed by the Friars to rank inside the top three at their respective positions. That would be Dylan Abram Dylan Abram 6’0″ | 160 lbs | DB Imhotep Charter | 2026 State PA . Abram exemplifies ideal technique beyond his years. Disregard “production” when evaluating this kid. His PBUs and INTs might not leap off the stat sheet, yet his cover skills, both at the LOS as well as downfield jump off the tape. One of the more advanced corners that excels against a myriad of body types. Just 5 receptions allowed, incredible read and react working down into the flat zone. Dylan sees things in front of him well. The kid trusts his own speed and ability, this is one of the more calmer, more confident corners I’ve come across, especially at this age. Yet another top-20 prospect on this Friar defense.
Really like what I’m seeing and hearing on socials about both of these young sophomores. Elijah Daniels Elijah Daniels 6’1″ | 180 lbs | DL Bonner-Prendie | 2026 State PA , 6’1, 180 pounds, could see time at TE or DE. CJ Amobi CJ Amobi DL Bonner-Prendie | 2026 State PA , 6’2, 200, he might also see time at EDGE or TE. The Friars are chockfull of 6’2+ prospects who could develop into serious playmakers on defense. We know about the exodus of starters, yet this program is ready to deploy new names that have worked hard to earn their roles. I think there’s a good chance these two sophomores make a name for themselves inside the PCL Blue.
I’ve been following Kenjai Gatling Kenjai Gatling 6’0″ | 175 lbs | QB Bonner-Prendie | 2027 State PA for some months now. His MS tape has me excited enough to rank him before he’s even taken a snap under center for the Friars. Here’s what I wrote about him in a recent piece.rn
Kenjai Gatling Kenjai Gatling 6’0″ | 175 lbs | QB Bonner-Prendie | 2027 State PA places inside the top 30 on this prestigious list. Again, the smoothness and natural flick rivals Sebastian Williams and Jake Wilson . The calmest quarterback in the pocket. Works in a shotgun set, receives the snap, gives a clean dropback, makes the correct read as quickly as possible, delivers an accurate ball. This all might seem rudimentary, yet remember we are talking about a kid who hasn’t played HS ball yet. Obviously, things won’t come this easy, especially working in the PCL. Yet Gatling’s promising 8th-grade tape has us thinking he might be further along than some upperclassmen. Gatling didn’t always work in shotgun sets last season either, you can see him in I’s working a real drop back. It’s no wonder as to why his footwork is a bit ahead of the rest of the pack. The kid works the pocket so well, he can feel pressure and step slightly into the pocket when necessary. Gatling can hitch and release if someone is bearing down on him. He can score from 550+ yards out with his legs and feet at the MS level. Excited to see this kid in person.
Noel Campbell Noel Campbell 5’8″ | 120 lbs | QB Bonner-Prendie | 2027 State PA is another name that has caught my attention. I presume these two will go to battle for the starting spot. Even though I’m on the Gatling train, Noel Campbell Noel Campbell 5’8″ | 120 lbs | QB Bonner-Prendie | 2027 State PA could be the man the Friars go with at some point this season. No matter who gets reps, I’ll have both on my radar moving forward.
