Expert Analysis

The staff over at PRZ PA, including myself, are well aware of Jaylen Johnson‘s potential after watching him tear through events all off-season. Jaylen Johnson‘s tape doubles down on that notion, forcing my hand to rank the Upper Darby three-way athlete inside the 2025 Top 100. Huge praise, yet Jaylen Johnson is currently unoffered to my knowledge. I have witnessed smaller athletes in terms of height and weight, earn FCS attention, would be a class steal if he falls to the Division Two level. Expect Jaylen Johnson to have his hands on everything this Fall, there’s not much the young man can’t do on the football field. Can start at back, can be split out wide, can play DB if need be, can return both punts and kicks, special player.

A new addition to our rankings, one of just six prospects to debut inside the top 100 headed into their senior year, this feat always tough to accomplish. One of the best pound-for-pound playmakers the state has to offer, tucked away at Upper Darby HS. 5’9, 170 pounds, a build, and physique suitable for next-level back play. Unreal twitch displayed away from his RB reps, Johnson can show off serious acceleration skills when at KR/PR as well as at wideout. Would rank inside the top ten if designated an “RB”, yet Johnson’s overall skillset is too broad to solely call him a back. Hands and awareness make him a threat at virtually any alignment. Johnson has spent months on the recruiting trail tearing up competition anywhere he goes. Was the easy choice for RB MVP at our combine, one of the better performances I’ve witnessed in years at that position.
It’s obvious FBS programs are unlikely to reach out at this point, yet I am a bit surprised FCS schools haven’t inquired yet. I won’t speculate as to why, yet I will vouch for Johnson serving as one of the better unoffered prospects in all of Pennsylvania.

Locked up MVP early at this event, shined during the combine portion of this event. Staggering numbers for a kid who weighed in at 170 pounds, standing at 5086. Sub 4.6 40 times, back to back. 9’8 Broad registered. If he didn’t wow coaches enough with these numbers, Johnson running through indi drills with ease and making kids look silly during 1v1s secured the notion. One of the easier MVPs to pick, hardly any deliberation. Will place well on our ranks.
