QB’s
An easy Pre Season All Long Island selection here. Stahl was one of the most impressive quarterbacks I saw all summer. He’s in a system where he will be throwing the ball a lot and he should have another great statistical season. He’s a terrific leader and an accurate quarterback. Stahl has a great WR core to work with, and I’m expecting this Bulls offense to be one of the best on Long Island.
The gunslinger from Massapequa is currently my top quarterback in all of Nassau County. He had a breakout junior season where he threw for 21 touchdowns and helped Massapequa reach the Nassau County title game. Dulanto was a great decision maker and this summer I was impressed with his arm strength. He’ll be very fun to watch all year long in a Chiefs offense that will score a lot.
RB’s
The potential that Jaden Montalvo Jaden Montalvo 5’9″ | 185 lbs | RB William Floyd | 2025 NC has is something people need to look out for. He clocks a 4.5 forty yard dash and when he gets going nobody is catching him. During 7v7’s this summer he routinely looked like the fastest player on the field and he was mainly just catching short passes and making big gains out of them. His speed will allow him to have a huge season and dominate in Suffolk Division 1.
The speedy running back for the Cyclones has a great chance of being one of the top rushers in Nassau County. Lozito has a great offensive line in front of him, and he has the acceleration to pull off big plays. Lozito has solid speed and plays with a ton of toughness. He should be the workhorse in a successful South Side running attack.
Nolan Michalwski
Nolan Michalwski
I saw Westhampton a couple of times this summer and I was always impressed with Michalwski. He is easily one of the most elusive running backs on Long Island and he’s set up for a huge season this year. Westhampton brings back almost their entire offense and I think Michalowski will be a touchdown machine. Look out for him to be great in the receiving game as well.
WR’s
Sayville graduated a couple of receivers but now Luke Hansen Luke Hansen 6’1″ | 185 lbs | ATH Sayville | 2024 State NY will be the top option for the Golden Flashes this season. Each time I saw him play he was always one of the most dangerous deep threats on the field. Hansen does a great job creating separation and hauling in tough passes. In Sayville’s prolific offense, we should see Hansen coming away with a ton of catches
Highlights
The Westhampton native will be a reception machine this upcoming season for Westhampton. He was great during his junior season coming away with a ton of catches. He runs great short and intermediate routes. But this summer, I saw how good Smith’s release was from the line of scrimmage and he was consistently catching long touchdowns against good defenses. Look out for him to make plays all over the field this year.
Tyler Villalta Tyler Villalta 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Massapequa | 2025 NY
Tyler Villalta Tyler Villalta 5'11" | 170 lbs | RB Massapequa | 2025 NY
Villata is a true playmaker and will be a monster when it comes to yards after the catch. Last season just as a sophomore, Villata was one of the fastest players in Nassau County conference 1. When Massapequa got him into space, good things happened for this offense. He was deadly on screen passes, jet sweeps and whenever the ball was in his hands he made plays.
One of the most reliable receivers in Nassau County last season. He led conference three in both receptions and yards a year ago. Lewis made a ton of impressive contested catches. His ability to haul in passes against tight defenses is incredible. He is a smooth receiver who high points the ball well. I think Floral Park will make it a priority to get him the football this season and he will have a big year.
I am a big believer in this Sachem North offense and their passing attack will be amazing. One of the beneficiaries will be the talented receiver Shane Reilly Shane Reilly 5’10” | 165 lbs | ATH Sachem North | 2024 State NY . He had over 500 yards receiving last season and I think he’ll have even more production this year. He was owning his matchups in single coverage, as getting separation has been easy for Reilly. He has excellent chemistry with quarterback Anthony Vino Anthony Vino 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Sachem North | 2024 State NY who will also have a big year. Expect Rielly to get open a lot and come away with a ton of receptions this year.
TE
Roony Elmon
Roony Elmon
The 6 foot 2 tight end is one of the most underrated receiving options in Suffolk County. He had a great junior season and now this upcoming year he could have a breakout season. When defenses are worried about Hayden and Hunter Lovinksy, it’ll open up room for Elmon over the middle. And I think he’ll rack up a ton of catches, especially after developing a lot more chemistry with young quarterback Aaron Smith Aaron Smith 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Deer Park | 2026 NY
OL
Nick DiBacco
Nick DiBacco
One of the most underrated offensive line units on Long Island belongs to Syosset and they have some real talented guys up front. Nick DiBacco is one of the best centers you will see in Nassau County. At 6 foot and 280 pounds he absolutely owns the middle of the field overpowering defensive lineman and also makes good blocks up field. He’ll be a big reason Syosset does well at the line of scrimmage
The recent Stony Brook commit is expected to have a nig year and he’ll be one of the leaders of this Hurricanes offensive line. He has excellent size at 6’5 and 300 pounds, he is dominant at the tackle position. He has the footwork to keep up with quicker defensive ends and his power does the rest. He is a consistent and efficient lineman for a Westhampton offense that will be a machine.
Another Stony Brook commit that will be one of the top lineman on Long Island. Last year Suffolk County division 2 was tough up front, but Mike Seeger Mike Seeger 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Lindenhurst | 2024 State NY excelled and dominated on both sides of the ball. At 6’6 and 295 pounds, he’s not only stronger but he got faster and I think he’ll make a big impact every single game in Suffolk Division 1 for Lindenhurst.
Highlights
Ward Melville quietly has one of the top lineman units in Suffolk County and Brennan Kurtz Brennan Kurtz 6’2″ | 260 lbs | OL Ward Melville | 2025 NY will be one of the players anchoring it. He had a coming out party his sophomore season with his highlight reel pancake blocks and how he excelled in big games against tough competition. Despite only being 6’1 and 235 pounds last season, he was still a very strong lineman and he only got bigger and more athletic this offseason
Rafael Hernadez
Rafael Hernadez
The interior offensive lineman is expected to have a big year for a Hills East offense that will be very physical. Last year Herenadez had a huge sophomore year paving holes for this run game. And now the bruising guard has had a tremendous offseason and will look to be one of Suffolk County’s top lineman this season.
DL
One of the best finesse lineman you’ll see in New York. Ali has made an impact on varsity since his freshman year and I think the junior captain will show why he’s one of the state’s best this upcoming season. He has a great first step and several effective moves. Ali is also not afraid to get physical and did a great job fighting off multiple lineman to make tackles last year. Look out for him to lead a revamped Walt Whitman defense.
Highlights
Jah’Rece Matthews
Jah’Rece Matthews
The Roosevelt product is one of the strongest players on Long Island. After benching 385 pounds without an issue, the 2025 defensive lineman was a beast all offseason. The violence and aggression he plays with is very entertaining. Matthews won the majority of his one on one reps this summer and when he bullrushes lineman in conference 3, he’ll be very difficult to slow down.
After Fisher’s big sophomore season, I can confidently say he is one of the top defensive tackles in Suffolk County. He’s 6’2 and 250 pounds and I’m sure he only got bigger, he had great strength and body control up the middle. Fisher did a great job eating double teams all year long. He showcased his block shedding ability to still come away with a lot of tackles. He will be one of the best run stoppers up the middle this upcoming season.
The Malverne native will be one of the top conference 4 lineman on all of Long Island. He had solid size at 6’2 and 225 pounds and he was very good at coming around the edge with finesse moves last year to get to the ball carrier. He registered 7 sacks and with how quick he is to the outside, I can see him getting a lot of tackles for loss in a very fast and physical Malverne defense.
LB’s
The hard hitter from North Babylon is your old school bone crusher in Suffolk Division 2. He isn’t the biggest linebacker, but he makes up for it with his speed and aggression. He can burst into the oppositions backfield very quickly and come away with a ton of tackles. He will have one of the best statistical seasons if he stays healthy. Lomax is a tackling machine who is always around the ball.
He might not play for a perennial powerhouse, but Robinson certainly belongs in the conversation with the top linebackers. He had a big time offseason where he impressed at a prep redzone showcase. His footwork and technique is very solid and he will be counted on a ton this year. Robinson will be one of the most effective LB’s in all of Suffolk County.
Highlights
During the summer it was evident that Javon Delaney Javon Delaney 6’1″ | 185 lbs | LB William Floyd | 2024 State NY was one of the best pass coverage linebackers on Long Island. He made great reads on routes and had the lateral quickness to shut down running backs. He was great in the 7v7’s but he’ll really excel once the pads come on. Last year he was a great run stopper and he had sideline to sideline speed to make plays for this Floyd defense. Watch out for him to have an all around monster senior season.
The aggressive linebacker from Bellport is in for a big senior season. He was a great tackler who delivered some big hits. In a division where we’ll see a lot of running, you can expect White to fill the gap and make very physical plays. I liked White in pass coverage as well last year, he’s got the acceleration to come downhill and make plays for this Clippers defense wherever they need him.
DB’s
Luke Hartman Luke Hartman DB Long Beach | 2024 NY
Luke Hartman Luke Hartman DB Long Beach | 2024 NY
Easily one of the best ballhawks on Long Island. The Towson lacrosse commit had 7 interceptions last season. His hands and instincts helped him have a huge impact last year. Hartman was also a great open field tackler and an all around playmaker. He’ll be used all over the field during his senior year.
JD Harrison
JD Harrison
The all around athlete from Walt Whitman is one of the top overall players on Long Island. He’ll easily be one of Suffolk County’s best safeties. He’s one of the fastest and most athletic players we’ll see in any secondary. Last year Harrison showed that he was an extremely hard hitter. He also has amazing hands making plays on the ball. I’m expecting him to be a ball hawk on defense and of course a great receiver on offense.
Steven Mulqueen
Steven Mulqueen
The Mepham product was an all county selection last year and will be one of the most effective players in Nassau Conference 2. He was a reliable cornerback last year that didn’t get targeted very much. He has great football IQ and will be one of the top cover cornerbacks this season and will come away with a bunch of pass breakups.
ATH’s
The only 2026 to make either preseason all long island public school team. Winter has been on varsity since the 8th grade, and he makes a huge impact for Babylon. Last year he played everything, he displayed his abilities at QB, RB, LB, DB and he excelled. This year he is the starting quarterback and he’s one of the top dual threat QBs along with being one of the top safeties this season in Suffolk County
Highlights
A very exciting player who does it all. Weeks plays quarterback, running back and is a ballhawk of a defensive back. During his senior year, I think Kings Park will just feed Weeks the rock and the athletic senior will make a ton of plays. Also in a pass heavy division 3, look out for Weeks to be a game changing defensive back
Highlights
Ramon Calderone
Ramon Calderone
What a summer it was for Ramon Calderone. The Lynbrook product made a statement all over the field. He collected a ton of interceptions on defense and he visibly got much more athletic. He has exceptional size at 6’2 and 185 pounds. Calderone is fast, physical and will make plays at both receiver and especially on defense this upcoming season.
The Patriots top playmaker will be a fun one to watch. Morgan was an incredible deep threat downfield, as he is one of the fastest players you’ll see in Suffolk County. He was solid this summer at 7v7’s, he’ll be great as a receiver and a defensive back. Morgan is also one of the most efficient return specialists you’ll find on Long Island.
