Continue ReadingThe class of 2025 is about to embark on its most important season. The Junior season is very likely the most pivotal season for prospects, and this fall, we’ll see what 2025 is made of. This article will outline five players who I feel have a great chance at breaking out this fall!
RB | Vegas Seay Vegas Seay 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Brother Rice | 2025 State MI | Brother Rice | Twitter
Brother Rice has a few significant losses due to graduation, and the Running Back position is one they’ll have to replace. The frontrunner for RB1 is Vegas Seay Vegas Seay 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Brother Rice | 2025 State MI . This is a prospect who has been going to work all offseason, and he’s one that is very boom or bust for me. There are a few things to be very optimistic about Vegas. First, he seems to have had a great offseason. Workouts, team camps, college camps, 7v7, etc are all great for a prospect. When I’ve seen him in person, I like his power, balance through contact, and overall passion for football. How he’ll fare as a starting RB in the Catholic League is yet to be seen, but I 100% trust the Brother Rice coaching staff to develop him.
QB | Brody Betser Brody Betser 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB Caledonia | 2025 State MI | Caledonia | Twitter
Brody is one of if not the most intriguing new starting QB prospects in Michigan. He’ll be taking helm of a proven Caledonia offense that is coming off the most sensational season in their history, going to the Division 1 State Championship. There is a lot to be excited about when it comes to Brody. First, like many on this list, he’s another offseason grinder. West Side QB training, 7v7, camps, and more, Brody is doing everything he can to reach his ceiling. Whenever I’ve watched Brody, I always come out impressed with his overall game. He still has some growth to do in terms of accuracy and footwork, but I’m confident he’ll be a good QB. With a great season at QB, Brody will shoot his way up the rankings.
WR | Leo Perettie Leo Perettie 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Grosse Pointe North | 2025 State MI | Grosse Pointe North | Twitter
Leo is a high-ceiling slot/deep threat and football isn’t even his first sport! On our Prep Hoops site, he’s ranked #68 in Michigan. In terms of his performance on the gridiron, he’s a great slot option. There are times in his film where he has good release, especially against poor press coverage. In the open field, he’s able to navigate upfield, dodging a few tackles to get extra yardage. His athleticism on the football field could improve, but in no world is he a bad athlete. Come this fall, Leo could play a huge role in this offense.
OT | Lucas Tic Lucas Tic 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Troy | 2025 State MI | Troy | Twitter
A have a great feeling about Lucas Tic Lucas Tic 6'3" | 255 lbs | OL Troy | 2025 State MI for this upcoming season. Last season, he proved to have a great foundational skillet. He could run block quite well, get to the next level, and his pass blocking was adequate. He was a well above-average Division 1 tackle, a bright spot for Troy. Fast forward to today, Lucas is now listed at 6’3″ 240 instead of last year’s 6’2″ 215. His twitter also shows some good offseason work in the weight room. Take this as face value, and you can presume that Lucas has been working his tail off bulking and focusing on his fundamentals when he can. No doubt a big season ahead for Lucas, and I’m looking forward to seeing him perform on Friday Nights!
TE/ATH | Jake Chapman Jake Chapman 6'6" | 205 lbs | TE Unity Christian | 2025 MI | Unity Christian | Twitter
Chapman is such an intriguing prospect. He’s a slim giant at 6’6″ 205, and a standout forward on the hardwood. Last season and early in the offseason, Jake had a few shining moments, but still a ton of room to grow. This entire offseason, I’ve seen him work his tail off with offseason work. He trains at Powerstrength Trainign Systems, which is a small chain of gyms in the Grand Rapids area that’s helped develop some of the best football players in the area. In other words, I trust his training. Moreso, I trust Unity Christian to develop him well. I expect to see a lot of athletic improvement with Jake this fall!
