The 2025 West Virginia rankings were in need of an overhaul and over 50 new prospects have been added to the list since our last update. Our preseason rankings update now shows the Top 75 2025 athletes in WV and will be updated and expanded again mid-season. Here are some of the biggest stock risers in the rankings since our last update.

[player_tooltip player_id='487111' first='Avonte' last='Crawford'] - Huntington | DB
New Ranking: #11 | Previous Ranking: #22 | Spots Raised: 11

Huntington's [player_tooltip player_id='487111' first='Avonte' last='Crawford'] is our biggest stock riser since our last update and rose 11 spots to the #11 ranking and enters the Top 15 for the 2023 season. Crawford is an overall great athlete who should take over the reins at QB this season but I loved his DB film from 2022. He's a long athlete at 6'3 175 and moves very well for his size. It will be interesting to see how he does at QB this year and could make a position change in our rankings as well for the mid-season update. Either way, he's a versatile player who could play several positions at the next level and is the #2 ranked DB for the 2025 class right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='487106' first='Trevor' last='Bigelow'] - Fairmont Senior | DL
New Ranking: #8 | Previous Ranking: #18 | Spots Raised: 10

Our second-highest stock riser is Fairmont Senior DL [player_tooltip player_id='487106' first='Trevor' last='Bigelow'] who jumps up 10 spots to the #8 overall ranking and the #1 defensive lineman in the 2025 class. I evaluated Bigelow in my Marion County Spotlight series and immediately loved what I saw from the big man. Bigelow is a 6'4 240 nightmare on the defensive line and certainly doesn't look like he just finished up his sophomore year of high school. He's not only the top defensive lineman in his class but also one of the top in the state regardless of age. I personally have a D1 grade on him and I would be shocked if he doesn't eventually sign with a D1 program on signing day. Bigelow is well ahead of schedule of most rising juniors and that's why he enters the Top 10 for the WV 2025 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='487103' first='Noah' last='Vellaithambi'] - Hurricane | QB
New Ranking: #6 | Previous Ranking: #15 | Spots Raised: 9

Our highest QB stock riser is Hurricane's [player_tooltip player_id='487103' first='Noah' last='Vellaithambi'] who went up 9 places and just outside of the Top 5 at #6 overall. He's also rated as the #1 QB for the 2025 class and has already picked up his first D1 offer from Miami (OH). It will be interesting to see how Hurricane uses him this year with 2024 national recruit [player_tooltip player_id='865453' first='JacQai' last='Long'] transferring back to WV and most likely being the starting QB for the Redskins this season. Vellaithambi is athletic enough to play WR and DB as well and could see time there this season if Long wins the QB job. I strongly believe in his QB skills though and should be the starter again next season if not this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='487104' first='D'Edrick' last='Graves'] - Huntington | RB
New Ranking: #9 | Previous Ranking: #16 | Spots Raised: 7

Another Huntington Highlander that made a big jump is RB [player_tooltip player_id='487104' first='D'Edrick' last='Graves'] who now enters the Top 10 for the 2025 class. Graves is a very big running back at 6'1 220 who could also play linebacker at the next level but he'll be ranked as a running back for now. Graves split carries with our #1 ranked 2025 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='370477' first='Zah' last='Jackson'] but still rushed for over 500 yards and 13 TDs while helping lead Huntington to a state championship victory. Graves scored 3 touchdowns in said state championship game and moves well for a RB his size. I have a D1 grade on him right now and it will be fun to watch how he develops the next two years.

[player_tooltip player_id='450989' first='Kash' last='Gedeon'] - Martinsburg | WR
New Ranking: #4 | Previous Ranking: #7 | Spots Raised: 3

I got to see Martinsburg WR [player_tooltip player_id='450989' first='Kash' last='Gedeon'] in person at the GCOH Performance Exposure Camp back in early June and I was floored that he was only a 2025 prospect. Gedeon's physical build is very advanced for a rising junior and has some high-level athleticism to go with it. He just picked up his first D1 offer from Charlotte and that number is only going to rise as time goes on. Gedeon went up 3 spots in the rankings and is now firmly in the Top 5 for the 2025 class at #4 and is ranked as the #3 WR.

[player_tooltip player_id='450987' first='Tyshawn' last='Dues'] - Hurricane | WR
New Ranking: #2 | Previous Ranking: #5 | Spots Raised: 3

Hurricane WR [player_tooltip player_id='450987' first='Tyshawn' last='Dues'] is already compiling D1 offers as a rising junior and bumps up 3 spots to come in at #2 overall and the #1 ranked WR in 2025. Dues has been making plays on varsity since he was a freshman at George Washington and after watching his film you quickly realize why so many D1 schools are already in on him. The 5'11 170 speedster can stretch the field or do damage in the short and intermediate passing game and is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Dues is very dangerous after the catch as well and has the twitch to make defenders miss and the speed to run away from them. It's going to be hard to take over the #1 spot from Huntington DB [player_tooltip player_id='370477' first='Zah' last='Jackson'] but Dues will certainly give him a run for his money the next two seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='487112' first='Zavier' last='Pollard'] - Musselman | DL
New Ranking: #21 | Previous Ranking: #23 | Spots Raised: 2

[player_tooltip player_id='487112' first='Zavier' last='Pollard'] was a human wrecking ball for the Musselman Applemen last season and bumps up two spots in the 2025 rankings from #23 to #21. Pollard is a bit of a tweener right now at 6'1 235 who may end up on the defensive line at the next level or as a 3-4 outside linebacker/edge type of player. Pollard is really quick off of the ball and I love how physical and tenacious he is. He's good in pass rush and in run defense and is an overall strong athlete. Pollard is also a two-time state wrestling qualifier and a very good thrower on the track & field team. Depending on how he physically grows over the next two years, Pollard could climb these rankings even more.

[player_tooltip player_id='450988' first='Keegan' last='Sack'] - George Washington | RB
New Ranking: #5 | Previous Ranking: #6 | Spots Raised: 1

Although it's only a 1 spot climb, George Washington RB [player_tooltip player_id='450988' first='Keegan' last='Sack'] is now in the Top 5 in WV for the 2025 class. Sack is now ranked as the #5 overall player and still, the #1 ranked running back. The 5'11 195 rising junior had a fantastic sophomore campaign for the Patriots totaling over 1,700 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns. Sack will undoubtedly be a D1 prospect who already holds an offer from in-state Marshall University. I love his versatility and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Sack is a complete running back who can also line up in the slot and run routes as well. He has a nice burst of speed and some ability to make defenders miss in space. It's going to be very difficult for another 2025 RB to surpass [player_tooltip player_id='450988' first='Keegan' last='Sack'] in the rankings.
