Last season, the Tigers went 13-3 overall, with their losses on the season coming to Loyalsock, Danville, and Mount Carmel. However, when the playoffs came around, the Tigers were as dominant as ever. Winning their playoff games 69-6, 48-12, 48-18, 42-14, 42-7, and 37-22.
There is no reason to believe the Tigers won’t be among the best teams in the state again this fall. Let’s take a look at who some of their top contributors could end up being.
The 6-foot-1 / 6-foot-2 quarterback for Southern Columbia is a solid quarterback prospect with some considerable upside but is best described as a project quarterback. His accuracy will need to improve, as will his decision-making, but he’s a decent athlete with decent arm strength. With the Tigers’ offense potentially being more pass-heavy this fall, it will be interesting to see if he can improve with a potentially bigger workload.
Highlights
Bloom is one of the better defensive linemen in central Pennsylvania and is a productive player for Southern Columbia. Plays both linebacker and defensive end for the Tigers, though at his size, he’ll be better suited to line up at linebacker in the future. Good athlete who shows good strength as well. Bloom will be one of the leaders of the Southern Columbia defense.
Highlights
Garcia is the potential x-factor for Southern Columbia. After missing all of last season with a knee injury, Garrett is ready to return this fall for the Tigers fully healthy. He’ll have the opportunity to be a dominant running back and linebacker. If he stays healthy, he’ll have a very good chance to be one of the most productive players in the state. Also, a very good wrestler for Soutehrn Columbia, posting a 62-13 record.
One of the top linebackers in the state of Pennsylvania for the class of 2025. Feterrolf is a high-IQ player who has good athleticism. Working his way back from a knee-injury of his own, he should be good to go for this fall.
A good-sized cornerback with quality athleticism. He was very productive for Southern on the defensive side of the ball, with 43 tackles and five interceptions. Also had five receptions for 70 yards as a wide receiver. Good ball tracking skills and quality coverage skills.
How about some love for kickers!
Carter has a strong leg and showed good accuracy as a kicker for Southern, including making 70 of 78 extra-point attempts. Also is a quality punter, averaging 37 yards per punt.
