Smith Stadium. After breaking down the camp’s top performers, it’s time to evaluate some intriguing in-state wide receivers that impressed me. Here’s my list of the top wide receiver prospects in Kentucky to watch for this upcoming season.
JoeAvion Starks
JoeAvion Starks
At the top of the list is JoeAvion Starks, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound wide receiver at Paducah Tilghman High School. Starks made a huge difference on the offensive side of the ball for the Blue Tornadoes during his junior stint of high school football last year. In 13 contests, Starks became the second-best receiver on the team, hauling in 25 receptions for 368 yards and six touchdowns. In addition to excellent size and speed, the rising senior out of Paducah, KY. adds excellent versatility down the stretch and efficient catching. Starks impressed me during the individual drills portion of the camp, showcasing his ability to consistently make catches.
Highlights
Claiming the second place spot on my list of standouts is Riley Hatfield Riley Hatfield 6'2" | 170 lbs | WR Bardstown | 2025 KY , a 6-foot-2, 170-pound wide receiver at LaRue County High School. Hatfield was an efficient offensive weapon for the Hawks during his sophomore year of high school football last season. In 11 games, Hatfield hauled in six receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown. In addition to impressive size and speed, the rising junior out of Boston, KY. plays with excellent versatility and toughness down the stretch. Hatfield caught my eye during the individual drills portion of the camp, making a difference down the stretch and in the endzone with his ability to haul in passes from anywhere on the field.
In the third place spot on my list of standouts is Elmo Stewart Elmo Stewart 6'3" | 170 lbs | ATH Greenwood | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-3, 170-pound wide receiver at Greenwood High School. Stewart was a gamechanging offensive weapon for the Gators during his junior season of high school football last year. In 12 contests, Stewart was the third-best receiver on the team, hauling in 20 receptions for 321 yards and four touchdowns. Stewart additionally made 54 rush attempts for 342 yards and four scores. In addition to solid size and speed, the rising senior out of Bowling Green, KY. is incredibly versatile and can break free of defensive coverage down the stretch. Stewart made his presence known on the field during the individual drills portion of the camp, showing off his quickness and consistent catching during the last few minutes of the camp.
In the fourth place spot on the list is Braden Mofield Braden Mofield 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Meade County | 2025 KY , a 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete at Meade County High School. Mofield picked up valuable time on the offensive end during his sophomore stint of high school football last year. In 12 games, Mofield hauled in eight receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown. In addition to excellent size and speed, the rising junior out of Brandenburg, KY. contributes excellent execution down the stretch and can escape defensive coverage with his physicality and toughness. Mofield was most impressive during the individual drills portion of the camp, showing off his impressive quickness down the stretch and ability to overwhelm the defense.

Finishing at number five on the list is Ethan Moore Ethan Moore 6'2" | 190 lbs | ATH Madison Southern | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-2, 185-pound athlete at Madison Southern High School. Moore was one of the most explosive offensive weapons on the Eagles’ roster during his sophomore season of high school football last year. In 11 contests, Moore was the top receiver on the team, hauling in 25 receptions for 415 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to impressive size and speed, the rising junior out of Berea, KY. plays with excellent versatility as he can haul in passes from anywhere on the field. Moore caught my attention in the last few minutes of camp, showcasing his excellent toughness and physicality in coverage and ability to be incredibly versatile if given enough space.
