Moore continues to demonstrate his knack for big plays in critical moments, as evidenced by his impactful performances on both sides of the football in his Eagles’ dominating 49-6 win over Harlan County in their playoff opener. Totaling 66 yards of offense and 1 touchdown on 6 touches (3 rushes, 3 receptions), he also contributed 2 pass interceptions defensively and tacked on another 56 total yards in returns. Currently totaling 1,260 yards of total offense and 18 touchdowns on the season (passing, rushing and receiving), his average of 9.5 points per game ranks him 11th in Class AAAAA and speaks to his ball skills, elusiveness and nose for the end zone. A polished and physical defender capable of playing multiple secondary and linebacker positions, he also has collected 34 total stops, 2 tackles for loss and 5 interceptions defensively, resulting in 119 total return yards and 1 touchdown. Now riding a 5-game winning streak, Moore and his Eagles will next host North Laurel for a chance to advance to the regional title game.

After devoting the majority of his offensive efforts to the demands of quarterbacking through most of this season, Moore’s athletic talents were on impressive display as a pass receiver most recently, as he caught 3 passes for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns in his Eagles’ 36-6 road win at East Jessamine. Also gaining 108 yards rushing and scoring 2 more touchdowns on only 4 carries, his ability to evade initial contact and accelerate quickly through even small gaps in defensive pursuit lanes make him equally dangerous as either a ball carrier or pass receiver. Currently the 27-ranked rusher in Class AAAAA with 741 yards and 6 touchdowns on 59 carries, his average of 12.6 yards per carry attests to his big-play ability, but he also projects favorably on the defensive side of the ball, where he has contributed 10 solo tackles, 12 assists, 2 tackles for loss and 1 interception. With the versatility to contribute in multiple roles at the next level, his skill set equips him well for early/immediate special teams consideration.

is a player that recently climbed up our rankings following an impressive sophomore year and off-season. Moore plays a key role on both sides of the ball for Madison Southern. On offense, he finished as his team’s leading receiver, catching 25 passes for 415 yards and three touchdowns. He is a dangerous deep threat on the outside, using his speed to run by opposing defensive backs. Moore is also a very reliable safety on defense. He finished this past season with 34 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one interception. Ethan has shown the ability to sit back in coverage and read the quarterback then break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. He is also reliable against the run, showing the ability to come downhill and make tackles in the open field. Moore currently holds offers from Kentucky and Union College, and I expect more to come his way as he has begun to establish himself as a true Division I prospect.

Aligning as a safety in the Eagles’ 4-3 defensive system, Moore possesses the skill set, fundamental techniques and football acumen to serve as a reliable pass defender, but he truly separates himself with the aggressive, downhill manner in which he attacks the run, both from a conventional deep alignment and when walked up on a slot receiver. In 11 total games last fall, he totaled 21 solo tackles and 13 assists while also securing 2 tackles for loss, forcing 1 fumble and intercepting 1 pass. In addition to his defensive impact, he also exhibits durability and talent as a wide receiver, where he hauled in 25 catches for 415 yards and 3 touchdowns. Already on the radar of several small colleges in his area, with two high school seasons remaining, he is sure to attact a good deal more interest from next-level programs as he continues to develop.
