is a player who has been on our radar for a while now and has continued to impress this season. Williams is explosive out of his stance as a pass rusher, using his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease on his way to the quarterback. Preston finished his senior year with 10.5 sacks in 12 games. He was also very impressive against the run, leading his team with 84 tackles and 21 tackles for loss. Williams also scored one rushing touchdown on offense. Preston currently holds offers from Thomas More, UVA Wise, and Pikeville, and I expect him to make an impact wherever he decides to play at the next level.

is an impressive outside linebacker prospect that excels at covering lots of ground in zone coverage and finishing defensive takedowns when other defenders are unable to. Williams, a 6’2 230lb 2025 grad from Madison Southern High School had a great 2022 season as he recorded 98 total tackles and 12 tackles for loss in 10 games played. Williams’s reflexes are incredibly fast, which goes along with how quickly he gets to full speed when charging at an offensive player. When making a tackle, Williams is exceptionally skilled at finding the right spots to target on the opposing runner to hit to loosen up the ball for a potential forced fumble. The best aspect of Williams’s style of play is that he can make a defensive play across the field. If he started on one corner of the field and ended on the other, Preston makes it no problem to have to cover multiple spots at once and still make a crucial defensive stop. His reliability and skills at the LB position make him a valuable prospect for any college recruiter to look for. Preston has attended numerous collegiate camps and has been given lots of interest from many schools. I believe offers will pour out by the end of his junior season.

from Madison Southern. Williams had a strong sophomore season, finishing with 98 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and three sacks. He is an off-ball outside linebacker that is very impressive against both the run and pass. As a run stopper, he does a great job of stacking blocks and finding the ball then shedding them quickly once he sees where the play is going. He takes great angles to the football and is a very reliable tackler once he gets to the ball carrier. As a pass rusher, Williams has the speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles and also has the strength to drive straight through them on his way to the quarterback. Preston doesn’t currently hold any official offers but has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

Primarily aligning as a 5-technique defender and playing up in a balanced, athletic two-point stance, Williams enlists consistently good separation skills, accurate hand placement and disciplined footwork to essentially make himself a “two-gap” defender even when forsaking B -gap by alignment. Even from the two-point stance, he generates a quick and explosive vertical push and establishes a thick fit on the offensive tackle that gives him the ability to press, separate and work underneath/inside his blocker because he rarely if ever runs to deep before reading and reacting to his primary visual key. Over the Eagles’ 10-game season in 2022, he produced 36 solo tackles, 62 assists, 12 tackles for loss and 3 sacks, most importantly displaying increased disruptive play and productivity as the season progressed. Also athletic and versatile enough to contribute offensively at the high school level, he accumulated 10 total touches offensively (8 rushes; 2 receptions) for 46 total yards.
