Being one of the very few legitimate padded camps left in the country, it was great to see kids in a real football environment making contact and actually playing games. We focused of primarily on the 2027 class, but there were a few 2028 and 2029 prospects that stood out too.
– Excellent route runner with ability to break down on his route and get open
– Displayed requisite speed and picked up substantial YAC
– Strong, well-balanced and explosive burst. Has no problem getting off the line against press coverage
– Does all the basics at a high level. Think good short yardage or possession receiver at this point
– Has a ton of ability and was an obvious eye-test passer from the opening whistle
– One of those WR/TE tweeners that can play both positions at this point. Great size and speed. As a receiver can beat corners with speed and can highpoint the ball with the best of them
– As a tight end, he has an advantage because of the way he moves. Has the strength to out-muscle defensive backs in coverage. Also a tremendous blocker on the line and down field.
– Comes from a rugby/basketball background too. Very intriguing prospect I’m now high on
– Jones caused problems all day for anyone he was lined up against. He is big and strong and skilled on facets of the game
– One thing that jumped out about Jones at camp, was how coachable he was. He was corrected on things here and there but adjusted quickly on the next rep. He is one to watch for sure
– As a tight end he ran solid routes and showed good hands, but his best position is defensively Defensive End. In tackling drills he was patient and did not over pursue, but then quickly attacked. He made it hard to run against all camp long.
Highlights
– Big, strong lineman who can play inside or outside at this point with his size and ability
– Separated himself from the pack while playing tackle. Used his size to withstand power rushes and used his quickness to handle the faster D ends.
– Light on his feet and powerful. His technique is solid and he appeared to take instruction & apply it immediately
– Overall, was the stand out player of the camp at the skill position’s. On both sides of the ball he was top tier
– The Nevada prospect traveled to Utah to prove a point and perform. Played with a lot of swag and his love for the game was palpable
– In scrimmages he caught two touchdowns & had a pair of picks. He was an impact player for his squad
– Great route runner with YAC ability. He was smooth on all his routes and easily fought off attempted of press coverage
– Skilled and versatile linebacker who can play middle or outside right now because of his athleticism
– Type of backer who can match up and handle athletic tight ends running up the seem then turn around on the next play and kill runs up the middle
– During scrimmages and live drills he was in the right place time and time again. Proper footwork and quick-reactions led him to success all camp long
– Goes without saying he brings a high, and advanced, football IQ to the field
– Was one of the two talented quarterback’s to earn an MVP at the camp. With Ferran at the helm, his team won all their scrimmages and relied heavily on his right arm
– Played with great pocket presence and made all types of throws staying from inside the pocket
– Showed a really quick release and looked very comfortable shuffling his feet and moving in the pocket. Pulled the trigger quickly and decisively
– His deep ball was on point and consistently accurate–impressive day
