About Kava
Expert Analysis
Andy Pham | Prep Redzone Scout
Kava is a pure athlete and can line up at multiple positions. He’s deadly with the ball in his hands and he is an effective part in the return game. He’s a safety that can play either positions as he showcases the range, closing speed and ball tracking skills to be used as the deep safety and he is a player who isn’t afraid to get physical and will come down in the box to be a thumper. He is a player with the floor to play at the FCS level and is a player who will flirt with getting FBS offers with the G6 schools. He’s a fun player with a lot of traits to like.

Kava was used on the defensive side but did get some reps on offense. He is a fundamentally sound defensive back with good instincts and has good closing speed. He uses his athleticism and length to win defensively and has the necessary hip sink needed to be a versatile piece on the back end of the defense. He tracks the ball well, does a good job of making plays and is an athlete who creates with the ball in his hands.

Kava has been an exciting two way prospect but his home will be as a defensive back. He has good instincts and is a playmaker on that side of the ball. He has a good range, displays good speed, and is a player who has good quickness and overall athletic traits. He closes ground well and will make a play on the ball. He’ll pick up offers at all levels regionally.

Fiefia is arguably the best player on the team and will he asked to play both ways this coming season. He is naturally a defensive back where his athleticism can be on full display. He moves well, has good closing and overall speed, makes great plays on the ball, has good anticipation and an eraser on the back end. He can be a cover corner, a thumping safety and even the deep safety. That versatility will be needed as they have a lot of moving parts on defense that haven’t been settled on yet. Offensively, his footwork allows him to do well with the ball in his hands and his creativity takes over and he can make defenders miss, he might be the jack of all trades for the Phoenix this year.

Fiefia is a physical player with great range and is excellent at diagnosing plays quickly. He can play either Safety position or be a cover corner if asked. Fiefia has great bend at the hip and an excellent movement pattern that allows him to play anywhere on the secondary. He is instinctual and uses his speed to undercut a route and make a play on the ball. Fiefia isn’t afraid to mix it up and play through the whistle, the physicality sparks the team and he blends that well with his speed. He has spent time on the offensive side of the ball where that physicality comes through in run-blocking plays as he looks to hit a defender and make an impact wherever he is asked to. But he’s not just an extension of the run support, he showcases soft hands with good footwork as a receiver, works back to his Quarterback when he’s scrambling around, isn’t afraid to run across the middle, has strong hands, and would be a playmaker on that side of the ball if he focused solely on being a receiver.
