Barker proved his versatility and playmaking ability as a junior for Foothill last season. He showed great coverage skills as a SS/OLB with ability to line up in the box or split out over the slot. He shows promising athleticism and instincts in coverage, two traits that could serve him well as a coverage-focused hybrid OLB at the next level. Barker’s an intriguing defender to keep an eye on heading into his senior season.
Highlights
Jamarion Whitson
Jamarion Whitson
Whitson put together a strong season at OT as a junior for Shadow Ridge last season. His upside lies in his lengthy, athletic frame at 6’6”/215 and his ability to move out in space. He plays more physical than his lighter frame would suggest but tends to get a little too high and upright out of his stance. Whitson has potential to develop into one of the more interesting OT recruits in Vegas if he can continue to bulk up and improve his skillset.
Smith is a strong and powerful 2025 interior DL at 6’1”/260. He had a productive junior season as a run-stuffer for Mojave’s defensive front-seven, totaling 40 tackles and 5 TFLs. He does a good job of attacking blockers with leverage, using his eyes to track the backfield, and ripping/pulling OL aside to close up lanes. He’s quick and urgent getting off the ball and shows good lateral range and agility for his size. Also plays OL. Smith is a sleeper DL to keep an eye on in NV’s 2025 class.
Highlights
Mason Hurd
Mason Hurd
Hurd is a sleeper at the C position after putting together a first team all-conference season for Green Valley last fall. He’s a strong kid at 5’11”/250 that can create interior push off the ball and anchor down in pass protection. He’s quick to snap and engage his blocks, shows good mobility in space, and drives his legs through the whistle. Hurd’s a name to watch when the next 2025 NV rankings come out.
Cecil Rabb III
Cecil Rabb III
Rabb’s an athletic two-player (WR/DB) that could see significantly more opportunities and playing time as a senior in the fall. He flashed his playmaking ability in limited opportunities as a junior and will look to carve out a role amongst Bishop Gorman’s loaded skill positions this season. Rabb has potential to be a late-bloomer on the 2025 recruiting trail with a strong senior season.
