Today, we will be continuing my new “Offseason Spotlight” series as we move onto a new city to break down some of the top talent. Lexington is a city with no shortage of football talent as more than a few explosive players from last year are set to return to the field this fall. Without any further ado, here’s my list of Lexington All-City standouts to watch out for next season.
At the top of my list of standouts is Cutter Boley Cutter Boley 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Lexington Christian Academy | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-5, 208-pound quarterback at Lexington Christian Academy. Boley was the top passing machine in the state of Kentucky as a sophomore last season. In 13 contests, the five-star quarterback and Kentucky commit threw 254 completions out of 400 attempts for 3,901 yards and 36 touchdowns. Boley additionally collected 102 yards and six scores on the ground. With excellent size, speed and versatility, the rising junior out of Lexington, KY. is nearly unstoppable on the ground and in the air, showcasing his ability to outrun the defense on the ground and overwhelm them in the air with his explosive passing.
Coming in at second place on my list is Cole Carpenter Cole Carpenter 6'4" | 200 lbs | QB Frederick Douglass | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-4, 203-pound quarterback at Frederick Douglass High School. Carpenter made a huge difference at the helm of the Broncos’ offense during his junior season of high school football last year. In 14 games, Carpenter threw 134 completions out of 213 attempts for 1,863 yards and 23 touchdowns. Carpenter additionally recorded 23 rush attempts for one score. In addition to impressive size, speed and awareness, the rising senior out of Lexington, KY. showcased excellent versatility, quickness off the snap, composure under pressure and pin-point accuracy in the air last season.
Finishing in third place on the list is Traevon Berry Traevon Berry 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Paul Laurence Dunbar | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-4, 185-pound wide receiver at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. Berry was one of the most significant offensive machines on the Bulldogs’ roster during his junior season of high school football last year. In 12 contests, Berry became the second-best receiver on the team, hauling in 29 receptions for 343 yards and two touchdowns. In addition to impressive size and speed, the rising senior out of Lexington, KY. is an incredibly versatile offensive talent, utilizing his toughness and quickness off the snap to defeat defenders down the stretch and in the endzone.

In fourth place on this list of returning talent is Chase Couch Chase Couch 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Lexington Christian Academy | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive lineman at Lexington Christian Academy. Couch was one of the stronger and more reliable defensive weapons on the Eagles’ roster during his junior season last year. In 14 games, Couch picked up 21 total tackles, including eight solo stops, 13 assisted takedowns, 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack. With impressive size, speed and toughness, the rising senior out of Lexington, KY. is nearly impossible to contain as he can make commanding stops and blast past the offensive line to put pressure on the quarterback.
At fifth place on the list is Major Brown Major Brown 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Lexington Christian Academy | 2024 State KY , a 6-foot-0, 180-pound linebacker at Lexington Christian Academy. Brown was the top defensive weapon on the Eagles’ roster during his junior season of high school football last year. In 13 contests, Brown picked up 136 total tackles, including 86 solo stops, 50 assisted takedowns and eight tackles for loss. Brown additionally hauled in one interception for five yards. In addition to impressive size, speed and toughness, the rising senior out of Lexington, KY. contributes explosiveness and consistency to the Eagles’ defensive line, showcasing his ability to make stops, create pressure and overwhelm the offensive line with his physicality.

Chaney made a massive impact on the field for the Eagles both offensively and defensively during his junior season last year. In 12 games, Chaney led Lexington Christian’s receiving core with 83 receptions for 1,175 yards and seven touchdowns. Chaney also picked up 40 yards and one score on the ground. On the other side of the ball, Chaney picked up 20 total tackles, including 15 solo stops and five assisted takedowns. Chaney additionally hauled in one interception. With solid size, speed and versatility, the rising senior out of Lexington, KY. is a reliable performer on both sides, showing off his ability to adapt to the play and overwhelm both the offense and defense with his overall explosiveness.
In the number seven spot on this list of talented prospects is Sam Clements Sam Clements 5'10" | DB Lexington Catholic | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-10, 140-pound defensive back out of Lexington Catholic High School. Clements was the most explosive defensive weapon on the Knights’ roster last year as a junior. In 13 games, Clements became the team’s top tackler, picking up 102 total tackles, including 39 solo stops, 63 assisted takedowns and five tackles for loss. Clements additionally hauled in three interceptions for 35 yards. In addition to impressive size, speed and toughness, Clements also plays quick off the snap, can consistently overwhelm the offensive line and can put heavy pressure on the quarterback.
