However, for now, they are showing some really solid tape at multiple positions or have the athleticism and skillset to be recruited at a position they currently do not see much time at. Check out the full ATH rankings here.
James Collins Jr James Collins Jr 6’4″ | 180 lbs | ATH Farmingdale | 2025 State NY is a really solid player on both sides of the ball and has a ton of versatility in where he can line up due to his athleticism. Collins Jr has good speed, strength, explosiveness and burst through his cuts. Instinctively, he is one of the most talented players in Long Island and has a knack for finding the ball and being the first one to find receivers or ball carriers in space. Most of his tape is all playing safety, but there is a clear path to other positional success due to his ability as an athlete.
Shamier Land Shamier Land 5’10” | 205 lbs | RB Bennett | 2025 State NY was a really good RB on a stacked Bennett team filled with playmakers, Land has breakaway speed and power to break through tackles. He runs north and south really well and is always picking up 1-3 extra yards through being brought down. Land also is really solid as a defender where he is solid in coverage and does a good job of finding the ball. His future at the next level is likely on offense but even there is has some versatility due to his ability to win with power and strength and break tackles moving upfield.
Cardinal Hayes 2025 continues with the WR/TE hybrid Reid Jones Reid Jones 6’2″ | 195 lbs | WR Cardinal Hayes | 2025 State NY . Jones is a really reliable pass catcher and while he offers consistent hands and solid route running he also can be used as a blocker through the hole, on the outside, or hold his own against defensive ends. Jones has solid athleticism and making more plays after the catch will really be the next step for Jones but he is one of the most reliable targets for a really talented Cardinal Hayes offense.
Highlights
Out of Sachem North, Lucas Singleton Lucas Singleton 5’11” | 200 lbs | RB Sachem North | 2025 State NY plays linebacker and running back and is one of the most talented players around the ball. Singleton has quick cuts and really good burst out of those cuts to make guys miss. He also has good balance and runs with a low center of gravity. As a defender, Singleton’s size projects him more at safety or slot corner vs. LB but he is solid at getting off blocks and finishing plays. Where he really excels is winning against blockers with quickness. A solid tackler, Singleton often goes low because of his size but does a really good job of wrapping legs finishing guys or allowing for a second or third man to come finish to the ground. A true dominant two-way player.

The first ATH on this list also to double as a really solid kicker Brody Schaffer Brody Schaffer 6’0″ | 180 lbs | ATH Westhampton Beach | 2025 State NY is a RB/WR/LB and with the ball in his hands is very difficult to bring down. His change of direction helps him make guys miss on offense and as a defender, Schaffer is able to use that skillset to make blockers not reach him, to make plays at the catch point, and finish tackles. Schaffer has a ton of versatility and could play multiple positions at the next level, a really good overall player who impacts both sides of the ball with consistency.
Brendan Park Brendan Park 6’1″ | 195 lbs | WR Chaminade | 2025 State NY has had a strong offseason is one of the best up and coming route runners in New York. Park excels at creating seperation and is a really solid athlete at the catch point making tough catches and being impactful after the catch. A couple scouts have raved to me about what Park has done this summer and he is one of the best route runners in this class and has the speed and quickness to project to the next level.
Highlights
Anthony Baggett Anthony Baggett 5’9″ | 170 lbs | ATH West Genesee | 2025 State NY is a clinical route runner excels creating seperation. Baggett also is a really solid blocker and although is a little smaller has really good strength in his upper body. Baggett lines up mostly on the outside but has the quickness to be a versatile weapon for an offense. Baggett is positionally versatile, really quick, and a threat after the catch making him one of the top athletes in this class. A player to watch in Syracuse this fall.
Most athletes on this list are the WR/CB type but James Rice James Rice 6’1″ | 240 lbs | ATH Fordham Prep | 2025 State NY is a all-league LB/FB. As a defender, Rice has really good power and strength to get through blocks and make tackles. As a fullback, he could be the best lead blocker in the state using his upper body strength to consistently push guys out of the way. Athletically, Rice has good quickness for his size and is able to get low and win against bigger blockers but also attack the legs of quick smaller ball carriers. Rice could project as either a FB or LB at the next level with an emphasis on special teams production as well.

Shawn-Preston Hogg Shawn-Preston Hogg 5’11” | 165 lbs | ATH Lincoln | 2025 State NY is an up and coming athlete out of Lincoln in Brooklyn. Hogg is a solid route runner and can make guys miss after the catch. He also showcases the willingness to block and do it well on the outside. There are some serious flashes from Hogg that display he could be one of the best athletes in the state but turning those flashes into consistent production at a high level will be key for Hogg. Hogg is a name to watch this fall and a candidate to breakout with a strong returning offensive group for Lincoln.
