Expert Analysis
Caleb Holfoth | Prep Redzone Scout
Singleton is a player whose physical build sets him apart from others – there was a lot of great RB play this year in New York but nobody is physically as built for the next level as Singleton is. Muscular and defined Singleton has the ideal RB build a lot of coaches I talk to are looking for – on tape he is productive, a three down back, and seeing him at a camp confirmed he was a quick explosive mover in open space.

Singleton is a player I have seen live a couple of times and admittedly made a big jump in his body composition in just the past year. Singleton committed to Army this week, and the Black Knights are getting a complete 3-down running back who can effectively impact the game as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Singleton is very explosive, and there aren’t other backs in the state who generate the burst and power out of their cuts like Singleton does. He is a RB/LB prospect who plays a lot of snaps, so his overall toughness will fit in well with an Army program filled with grit.

Singleton picked up his first offer and it came from the FBS program Army. Singleton who had a great performance at Army camp coming home with MVP honors also got his first offer and this will be just the start for one of Long Island’s top RB prospects.

stepped up and took over for the undefeated Flaming Arrows. He has to be at least be 6 foot and 200 pounds, Singleton played even bigger than that against a physical Brentwood team. Singleton was a tough runner and was making plays in between the tackles and racking up yards after contact to keep the chains moving. When he wasn’t bouncing off tacklers, he showed the finesse with a great spin move he utilized multiple times. He was good in short yard situations and he will have more 100+ yard games like we saw this past weekend.

plays linebacker and running back and is one of the most talented players around the ball. Singleton has quick cuts and really good burst out of those cuts to make guys miss. He also has good balance and runs with a low center of gravity. As a defender, Singleton’s size projects him more at safety or slot corner vs. LB but he is solid at getting off blocks and finishing plays. Where he really excels is winning against blockers with quickness. A solid tackler, Singleton often goes low because of his size but does a really good job of wrapping legs finishing guys or allowing for a second or third man to come finish to the ground. A true dominant two-way player.

The final Flaming Arrow on this list was one of their young guns. Singleton was one of the bigger running backs at the event and he had some burst to his game. He looked great running short routes and he was able to catch passes with ease. Against linebackers, he did his thing and got open quickly. Singleton has good awareness and field vision whether he’s carrying the ball as a running back or if he was a receiving threat like he was at the showcase. The combination of speed and power is something people have to watch for in the fall which could help him have a breakout junior season.
