A player’s recruiting directly impacts their ranking as a prospect, but it is extremely rare for a player’s ranking to affect their recruiting. Limited recruiting for underclassmen makes a player’s perceived potential as a college prospect important in where they place on the list, which is subject to change upon completion of their junior season.
A great way to help an athlete gain attention and raise their prospect value is to attend college camps, have well-structured film, and be a proactive communicator via Twitter, email, text, etc.

The 2025 class has a handful of players who have been invited to visit college programs or even received offers. However, much of the class is waiting for their turn to become the main focus of the recruiting world. As the sophomores start shifting gears toward what is widely hailed as the most influential season for high school players, identifying the players who significantly raised their stock value as potential prospects during the 2022 season provides an idea of what to expect this fall.
There are eight new names on the list of the top 25-ranked players in the class of 2025. Five players elevated their status and emerged in the top 25, while three are brand-new additions.
Jeremiah Hoffman Jeremiah Hoffman 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Severance | 2025 State CO is a new addition to the top 25 who also landed the fifth overall spot after entering his sophomore season ranked 29th. He is a highly talented wide receiver from Severance who has taken the recruiting world by storm, garnering attention and visit invitations from a handful of FBS schools that have him high on their prospect boards.
Pueblo East quarterback Zayden Stevens Zayden Stevens 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Vista Ridge | 2025 State CO is the next new name in the top 25, landing the 10th overall spot after residing at 36th on the list heading into last season. Keegan Perea Keegan Perea 6'2" | 235 lbs | DL Cherry Creek | 2025 State CO is another player who made a significant leap from the high 30s to landing 11th overall. The dangerous defensive end is on pace to continue Cherry Creek’s legacy of producing elite edge rushers.
Coming in at 16th is Broomfield’s Ty LaCrue Ty LaCrue 6'1" | 245 lbs | OL Broomfield | 2025 State CO , who jumped up from 26th to the 16th-ranked spot. He is a two-way interior lineman who could potentially play as an interior linebacker at the next level because of his strength, athleticism, and tenacity. LaCrue is a physical player who should be on every in-state school’s prospect boards.
The 17th overall spot belongs to newcomer Jaden Lawrence Jaden Lawrence 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Legend | 2025 State CO from Legend. Lawrence is an outstanding running back poised to breakout as one of the top rushers in the state during his junior campaign. Another new name to the rankings list is 19th-ranked DJ Crowe DJ Crowe 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Denver East | 2025 State CO from Denver East. Mason Markovich Mason Markovich 5'11" | 220 lbs | LB Glenwood Springs | 2025 State CO is a linebacker for Glenwood Springs who also holds the role of running back for the Demons. Palmer Ridge’s Rhett Armstrong Rhett Armstrong 6'4" | 160 lbs | K Palmer Ridge | 2025 State CO elevated his standing from the watchlist to the 25th-ranked player in the class.
