Continue ReadingWhen you scan the state of High School Football in Pennsylvania you are more likely aware of the power house schools in the WPIAL, Mid-Penn and Philadelphia Catholic league. What you may not know is that the newly formed LLBerks league has competed for both district and state titles, but consistently has had kids sent to major Division 1 programs. I profiled a few sleepers for the class of 2024 below. Keep any eye on all four of them this coming Fall.
Not only did Shaffer set the school record in tackles (141) last season, he did so finish his junior campaign early due to injury. Think about that for a minute, Shaffer had already recorded over 140 tackles and 9 TFLS in only 8 games. I don’t care who you play for or against that number is impressive regardless. Shaffer is stout linebacker for a Vikings squad expected to complete this year in Section 5 of the LLBerks. He has already drawn interest from FBS powers such as Villanova, Lafayette and William & Mary and more schools are coming. A tough hard nosed linebacker who can cover the field sideline to sideline, he certainly has the ability to play at the FBS level.

Brycen Armold
Brycen Armold
In case you didn’t know all this guy did last year was lead the LLBerks league in rushing accumulating 2,242 yards rushing with 35 combined touchdowns. Watching him play in person I can attest that Armold hype train is for real. Watching him play he possess tremendous vision and the power in his legs is second to none. The All state returnee who has already been clocked in at a 4.58 40, should start to draw interest from Division 2 and 3 schools soon. http://www.hudl.com/v/2JbH9r
While Hempfield did lose a number of starters defensively (10!) their signal caller returns for 2024. Landis led the Black Knights to their first section title in nearly 20 years in his first season as Hempfield’s starting quarterback. Tallying 24 total touhdowns Landis makes his squad go with his arm and legs. With the graduations of Grant Hoover Grant Hoover 5’9″ | 170 lbs | ATH Hempfield | 2023 State PA and Stephen Katch, I expect Landis’s passing touchdowns to double this year. He throws an excellent deep ball and can step into the pocket to take a hit. His speed and size alone are in my opinion more than enough for several PSAC schools to come calling rather quickly.

At 6’5 and 295 lbs. its hard to miss Breidenstein on the field. The Penn Manor transfer is coming into his own for the Blue Streaks and his 2023 campaign won’t disappoint. A big hulking tackle, Breidenstein is solid in his footwork and his reach is top notch. He is the type of offensive lineman that you don’t want to have you looked up as a defender cause chances are he will drive you to the ground. Major upside is there for this rising junior, I expect many colleges to start take notice very soon.
