Continue ReadingIOWA CITY, Iowa – I started this project on Dec. 1 and have featured 84 players before adding seven more prospects you can read about below. I wasn’t sure we would approach 100 seniors-to-be but have found it’s been easy doing so.
It’s wonderful seeing some of these guys pick up scholarship offers and opportunities during the last several months. More will be on the way, that’s for sure.
Here’s a look at more Class of 2024 student-athletes with next-level game:
Hank Brown, ATH, Dowling Catholic – Brown shows quickness in space, often lining up in the slot for the Maroons and racking up yards after the catch. He adjusts to haul in passes wherever they’re thrown. He appears to have solid straight-line speed and a shiftiness to avoid would-be tacklers. As a junior, he caught 15 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Brown’s skill set could potentially play on defense as well.
Santana Miller Santana Miller 6'2" | LB Iowa City | 2024 IA , ATH, Iowa City West – Miller stood out on the Trojan defense this season with 50.0 tackles (35 solo, 6.5 for loss), 2.0 sacks and two interceptions, including a Pick-6. He added 13 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown, and caught a 15-yard pass. All of that illustrates versatility and athleticism, which highlight his broad skill set. His clips show a physical player with a good burst and impressive closing speed.
Nolan Kass Nolan Kass 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Le Mars Community | 2024 State IA , ATH, Le Mars – At 6-3, 190, Kass possesses the size and athleticism that projects well at multiple positions on the the next level. Watching him play receiver for the Bulldogs, he offers a skill set that could keep him there or develop into him being a weapon at tight end. He’s a willing and able blocker with good hands and solid route running. Possibilities also exist on defense.
Max Snyder, WR, Centennial – Snyder put together a solid junior season with 23 catches for 350 yards and five touchdowns with 20 kick returns for 145 yards. Snyder does a good job of getting open through crisp route running and finding holes in defenses. He gets into his routes quickly with good burst and shows versatility in routes run. He displays good vision and elusiveness on kick returns.
Owen Lalumendre, LB/DE, Spirit Lake – Lalumendre produced at a high level as a junior. He racked up 90.5 tackles (85 solo, 20.0 for loss) with 7.0 sacks. He’s a fundamentally sound tackler, playing with good balance and wrapping up on arrival. He diagnoses plays well whether he’s coming from middle linebacker or off the edge. He takes good angles and flows well to the ball.
Evan Adams, DE, Kuemper Catholic – Adams shines on both sides of the line for the Knights. On defense, he’s coming off a junior season that saw him total 38.5 tackles (17 solo, 12.0 for loss) with 3.0 sacks. At 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, he shows good bend and pad level in addition to getting off the ball. With a good amount of physicality, he pursues well on defense and drives through opponents on offense.
CJ Phillip CJ Phillip 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Dowling Catholic | 2024 IA , ATH, SE Polk – Phillip is moving east to Southeast Polk after rushing for 823 yards (6.1 yards per carry) and 13 touchdowns as a junior at Dowling Catholic last season. He added 12 catches for 58 yards. He also lists cornerback as a secondary position on his Hudl highlights. As running back, his vision and patience stand out. He also has an extra gear when he gets into the open field. He can run inside and has power to break tackles.
