Here are some wide receiver superlatives to help us better understand what each receiver uniquely brings to their position.
BEST IN CONTESTED CATCH SITUATION
Jaylan is a unique player in that he has the trifecta of size, length, and athleticism at the wide receiver position. Due to these attributes and his quarterback giving him ample opportunities for jump balls down the field. He showed that he can win consistently in these situations. By tough at the catch point or simply just being able to outjump defenders
Hornsby has all the physical tools to be a dominant receiver at the next level. His talent level and his body frame suggest that his arrow is pointing up and that he could be a player we hear about in four years entering the NFL draft.
Ross could have easily won the best route runner superlative, but his dynamism is way more intriguing when you watch his film. At a legit 6’2 185 pounds Ross is an all-around physical specimen at the position with legit speed. What separates him as most dynamic is the acceleration he moves with when the ball is in his hands. There aren’t many players that I’ve watched with the level of acceleration Ross has, who is able to take a screen pass to the house where it looks like it’s easy for him.
When it comes to national notoriety Ross is an underrated prospect in the 2024 class. However, once the 2023-2024 season starts he will have over 20+ offers after coaches see him in his senior year.
Massey had a season for the record books last year as he broke the single-game record for reception in a game for St.Peter’s Prep with 18. You cannot amass that many catches without being able to get open on a consistent basis.
The one part of Massey’s game that tends to get overlooked. When it comes to his route running is his ability to play and manipulate tempo. As a result, Kenyon is deceptive and plays with a level of suddenness that most receivers don’t have in this class.
Another talented and explosive wide receiver who’s tough to bring down in the open field. Not only is he fast, but his lateral agility, quickness, and acceleration also separate him from his contemporaries when it comes to winning after the catch.
Haile is a receiver who is still quite raw and entering his senior year, he will develop more consistency as he moves into college. Haile has offers from a plethora of Power 5 colleges such as Penn State, Rutgers, West Virginia, Syracuse, and Maryland.
MOST UNDERRATED
A player who doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves, but is every bit as good as the top guys based on route running alone. Bosch is a player, who quite simply can get open and he does that well. If Kenyon Massey Kenyon Massey 5'10" | 165 lbs | WR Paramus Catholic | 2024 State NJ plays with tempo the best in this class, Bosch is a close second. Not only is he shifty but he understands leverage and has a great set of hands!
Bosch’s hard work paid off as he earned his first division one offer from Sacred Heart. His senior year will be his coming out party. As a result, the underrated tag will not be associated with him for much longer.
