Tyler Glaze, DB, 2024 – Tyler is a very good DB and he has a lot of upside going into 2023 season. He stands 6’1 and weighs 175 with great athleticism and hard hitting ability. He reads plays well and transitions quickly to run/pass. He triggers fast on the run and makes great tackles on the LOS. He stays deeper than the deepest in the pass game and hammers the underneath routes. He has good ball skills and plays through the hands. Tyler is certainly someone to keep an eye on this offseason.
Big Walnut
Eli Helton, RB/LB, 2026 – Eli is going to be the next in line of great Eagle RB’s. Played JV primarily this season and was a star. He is fast, athletic and runs with wiggle. He is a good zone runner and patient in his reads. He gets vertical quickly after finding the crease. He can run you over or wiggle by you. He is a good pass catcher out of the backfield. He blocks well and isn’t afraid to stick his nose in there. Keep an eye on his development going forward.
Purcell Marian
Levi Smiley, DL/TE, 2024 – Levi is a great two way player. He stands 6’4 and weighs 220 pounds. He had some great D1 visits this past fall. At TE he plays a variety of alignments. He splits out wide, aligns off the ball in the backfield, aligns in a hip alignment, and on the LOS. He is a pass catching machine and attacks the seams with great route running. He blocks well from multiple angles and moves defenders off the ball. He hammers defenders on split zone. On defense he plays stand up DE and comes off the snap really quickly with good lockout and positioning. He maintains his gaps and can run over the top fast on ball away. He is a great tackler who doesn’t allow forward momentum. His pass rush is athletic. He uses a speed rush, dip and rip, and bends directly back at the QB. Levi will continue to be highly sought after.
Brookside
Brennen Gainer, DB, 2024 – Brennen is a very good football player and can help a team in many ways. He is a special teams dynamo and returns kicks at a high level. He is athletic, shifty, and hard to tackle. He plays WR on offense and is a go to player. He runs good seam and under routes and can score every time he touches the ball. On defense he plays CB and excels. He is patient in his reads, has good technique, and transitions well to run/pass. I am impressed with his cover and ball skills. He runs in phase on deep routes and T Steps quickly on the underneath routes. He is a good tackler and brings his hips through the runners. Keep a good eye on him in the 2023 season.
