This article will focus on three Quarterbacks who I was impressed with while working on rankings, while I believe that the 2022 season was only scratching the surface. These guys are already impressive, but man, do I have a good feeling about their stock-rising potential!
The best passer in Muskegon doesn’t play for the Big Reds, Mona Shores, or even Reeths-Puffer. The best passer in Muskegon attends Division 7 North Muskegon. Now, because he attends such a small school that didn’t get far in the postseason, James Young James Young 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB North Muskegon | 2025 State MI wasn’t talked about much outside of the Muskegon area.
Diving deeper into him, I found an exceptional passer with great sophomore stats. This season, Young threw for 2,022 yards, 26TDs, and 7INTs with 70% completion percentage. With that being said, Young has a big arm with the ability to make any throw. There are of course some things to work on, but as long as he continues to improve, he’ll get the attention he deserves. I could see James Young James Young 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB North Muskegon | 2025 State MI being a good Division 2 College Quarterback!
There’s a great ring around Brody Betser Brody Betser 6’2″ | 205 lbs | QB Caledonia | 2025 State MI . The C/O 2025 Caledonia QB looks to fill big shoes after Mason Mckenzie Mason Mckenzie 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Caledonia | 2023 State MI led Caledonia to a State Championship appearance, and since the end of the season, I’ve heard very optimistic things. His film proves impressive and there’s no reason to believe that he won’t shoot up the rankings in due time.
I look forward to seeing Betser tomorrow at the Legacy Midwest Showcase!
Highlights
Pittman was a player who looked like a completely different player in week 1 than he did week 10. When I saw him face Rockford during Week 2, I watched Pittman get cold in the 2nd half with missing throws, and not noticing open receivers. I was not impressed with what I saw in Pittman that week. Though as Mona Shores played, Zeeland West Pittman proved to be vastly calmer and much improved. Ending the season with 1,421 yards, 18TDs and 4INTs was an overall good statline, but I am confident he’ll improve on that number come next season.
