Beierly competed at the event last year and was measurably better in every way this year. His release is effortless and he had one of the best arms at the event. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the speed tests and gets his whole body into his throws. Beierly constantly made the right reads in the drills and hit receivers in stride during one-on-ones. He has offers from Pitt, BYU, and Hawaii and has earned an offer from Miami since the event.

Gil was heavily talked about when determining the MVP for the quarterbacks. He took a leadership role in the drills and the other quarterbacks clearly respected him. He excels on the intermediate level throws and can put zip on those balls. Gil didn’t test as well as I expected but he still showed athleticism with his footwork. He has gotten two lower-level offers since the event and he would be an excellent lower level college quarterback.
In the early individual drills, the quarterbacks just throw to each other from various angles and distances. Ruff had the smoothest release during that portion and knows exactly when to put zip on the ball and when to put some air on it. I asked receivers which quarterbacks they liked throwing with and multiple receivers mentioned Ruff.
Ma was one of the guys multiple coaches at the event raved about. He moves very well and keeps his eyes on the secondary while being pressured. He gets his whole body into his throws and has a very high release. Ma played for OC Elite last year and his progress showed in a nice year for Woodbridge. He was one of the more accurate passers at the event and is very coachable.

Najm was at the event last year and has put on some muscle since then. He was solid in the testing with a 4.59 shuttle and a 5.09 40 yard dash. The receivers liked him because he threw some of the best deep balls of the day. I’d like to see a little more consistency from Najm as far as his accuracy goes on the shorter throws, but the upside is very visible.
Much like Gil, Kukuk took a leadership role at the event and the other quarterbacks responded to him. He was a true veteran and cheered on the other quarterbacks and gave advice when asked. He has an effortless release and is very accurate. He is coming off a shoulder injury but you wouldn’t be able to tell based on his size and the way he played. Kukuk picked up a Division 2 offer from Colorado State Pueblo this week.
