At 5 '11 and 183 pounds, Edwards has good size and is one of the most physical corners in New York state for the class of 2024. He was extremely efficient in making open field tackles. He did well within shedding blocks from receivers and being able to come away with hard hitting tackles. One of the top parts of his game is his man coverage ability. He squared off with some of the top 2023 receivers in New York and Edwards thrived under the pressure. He played his junior season at 15 years old and he got more mature through the weeks and will be a leader for Christ The King next season.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["450889"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"The 6'3 quarterback helped Mount St Michael get on the map in 2022. Pearson changed this offense with his dynamic ability at QB. He had a great pocket presence along with a cannon of an arm to go with it. Despite only being 180 pounds, Pearson did a great job at throwing while getting hit. He still had a really nice touch on his throws and had solid accuracy. Some of his biggest moments was when he rolled out of the pocket and found receivers deep down field. But, towards the end of the year, Pearson found his rhythm running the football. His ability to do it himself was starting to show, he has the potential to put on more weight and be one of the best dual threat QB's in New York City","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"Vaughn Washington ","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"5'9u0022","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"2410","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"Canarsie ","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_2_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"One of the top receivers in the NYCHSFL, is now headed to the PSAL. Washington has transferred from Holy Cross to Canarsie. Here's what the Brooklyn powerhouse is getting. Washington is going to be a perfect fit in the slot for what's expected to be an explosive offensive group. At 5'9, Washington is a smooth player with big play ability. His straight line speed is very impressive and it's only going to be utilized more during his senior year. He had a ton of yards after catch, and a big factor in his game is the toughness he has. Like any great slot receiver, Washington doesn't shy away from contact and makes plays through it.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_3_player_details_player_name":"[player_tooltip player_id='604470' first='Tamel' last='Morgan']","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_3_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_3_player_details_height":"6'3u0022","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_3_player_details_position":"2405","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_3_player_details_school":"James Madison ","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_3_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_3_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_3_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"James Madison has really built up their program in the PSAL and one of their cornerstones is their big talented offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='604470' first='Tamel' last='Morgan']. They moved up the “A” division, where they had to face some elite defensive lineman. Morgan was a guy who stepped up and helped his team to a 9-1 record. Morgan is one of the strongest players in the city. He mainly played at the guard spot during his junior season. When was pulling, he paved holes and had impact pancake blocks which generated a lot of space. His combination of agility, power, and body control is really what made him breakout during 2022.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["338358"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"His teammates over there on the Erasmus Hall defensive line are garnering a ton of attention but Pearson is certainly next up. He earned the nickname “Boulevard” at the nose tackle position. At 6'0 280 pounds, he is a monster. He fought through double teams each game, but what really caught my eye was his versatility. He has a ton of moves in his bag to get by really good offensive lineman. Person has a strong base and great hands work battling through interior offensive lineman. Whoever the Dutchmen played were in for a rough time up front, and it'll only continue as Pearson will become an even bigger force for his senior year.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_5_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_5_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_5_player_details_player_name":"[player_tooltip player_id='521449' first='Giovanni' last='Downer'] ","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_5_player_details_graduating_class":"2024","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_5_player_details_height":"6'1u0022","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_5_player_details_position":"2411","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_5_player_details_school":"Cardinal Hayes ","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_5_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_5_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_5_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_5_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"Get to know of the best run stopping defensive backs in New York. [player_tooltip player_id='521449' first='Giovanni' last='Downer'] is very versatile and athletic. Against Catholic league AAA competition, it looked like he could play either safety or linebacker. He was one of the most reliable tacklers in the league last year. He had speed and power as he finished through all his tackles and made plenty of plays. He also did well in pass coverage. Often matched up with slot receivers, he matched feet with those speedsters and did a solid job covering them or getting off blocks and making tackles in the short pass game. At 6'1 190 he can play multiple positions on defense and has a lot of potential.","_player_evaluations_5_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_6_player":["451505"],"_player_evaluations_6_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_6_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_6_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"The 6'2 210 pound defensive end was a leader for Monsignor Farrell. He started for his second straight season and improved tremendously. Hisb get off has to be one of the quickest in New York City. He has multiple finesse moves that give offensive lineman trouble. His footwork guides him into the backfield and when he's there he won't be missing tackles. Whether it's sacking the QB, or bringing down a talented RB, Dejesus gets the job done for this Lions defense. It'll be interesting to see how much weight he puts on into his 6 foot 2 frame as his height and speed is already impressive.","_player_evaluations_6_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_7_player":["342707"],"_player_evaluations_7_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_7_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_7_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"One of the many playmakers on this Erasmus Hall roster. Wright had a lot of speed and the Dutchmen coaching staff continuously put him into open space. Wright would make plays as his speed to the outside was very tough to contain and keep up with. Erasmus Hall loved running a jet sweep with him and he gained a lot of yards from it. He showed his potential in the slot as a talented receiver. At only 5'7, the Brooklyn native is still a force as he changes direction quickly and gives defensive backs a lot of issues.","_player_evaluations_7_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":8,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-63cf0cf437479"} /-->

In New York City this past season, there were talented playmakers all over the five boroughs. 2024 prospects from the city in the PSAL and the NYCHSFL were forces to be reckoned with. Some 2024's are already getting tons of offers but check out some of the guys who need more recognition.
