Apologies to Mekhi here, but I missed these two offers from a few weeks ago. Edwards, one of the top cover cornerbacks in New York picked up some offers from LIU and Monmouth. I saw Edwards at Super 7v7 and while his team NY Hustle had some highs and lows at the tournament, Edwards had a strong performance against some serious WR talent from all over the Northeast.

Edwards has all the tools and showed athletically he can hang with pretty much any receiver and use either physicality or his speed and quickness to mirror guys well. Edwards also has really solid ball skills and made some good plays on the ball.

Edwards does a good job of mirroring and disrupting the release of receivers off the LOS. Edwards has solid ball skills and can make plays at the catch point but can get handsy at times in coverage. Edwards is a prospect who has a super high ceiling and with more coaching and development could take the next step in his ability to cover down the field. Edwards is a willing tackler and does a good job of showing that he is willing to be physical and get involved. If he can improve on his coverage skillset outside of his ability to press receivers Edwards is on his way to becoming a very complete prospect.

Edwards is not afraid to jam receivers and be physical at the LOS but also will make plays after the catch or around the LOS on screens. Edwards has really good short area burst and plays really fast. In coverage Edwards is good at staying in-stride with receivers down the field. Edwards has some of the best instincts and physical play amongst the defensive backs in this class. His play speed and physicality make him a very intriguing prospect at the next level. If Edwards can continue to improve in coverage and show strong ball skills on tape then he could jump up even higher next season.

One of the most intriguing prospects on the defensive side of the football in New York City. At 5 ’11 and 183 pounds, Edwards has good size and is one of the most physical corners in New York state for the class of 2024. He was extremely efficient in making open field tackles. He did well within shedding blocks from receivers and being able to come away with hard hitting tackles. One of the top parts of his game is his man coverage ability. He squared off with some of the top 2023 receivers in New York and Edwards thrived under the pressure. He played his junior season at 15 years old and he got more mature through the weeks and will be a leader for Christ The King next season.
