Continue ReadingTop 25 running back debut for Kendell Cottrell Kendell Cottrell 6’0″ | 190 lbs | RB Bristol Jr-Sr | 2024 State PA , a new name to me yet one that I’ll become familiar with very quickly. Desirable frame at 6’0, 190 pounds, Cottrell gets a modest rank because of how new he is to the site. 1,500 yards and 25 touchdowns on 130 carries is a ridiculous ratio that led to Player of the Year honors. The 10-minute tape displays just how badly Cottrell outclassed much of his competition, both through the air and the ground. Might need a future “ATH” tag because of how well he catches out of the backfield and when in the slot. Incredible balance in infiltrating the front-seven. Tape out-paces his rank.
A top 300 placement for Avery Hankey Avery Hankey 5’8″ | 175 lbs | RB Bonner-Prendie | 2024 State PA . Has to be one of the more overshadowed 1200+ yard seasons I’ve ever come across. Isaiah Session Isaiah Session 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Monsignor Bonner | 2024 State PA got much of the love, deservedly so of course, yet many might attribute much of Hankey’s production to Sessions, as both carry similar builds and run with similar styles. Hankey averaged a touchdown every 100 yards. North and south runner, truly. Can produce in Bonner heavy sets at the goal line, as well as in some spread/gun formations. Awesome luxury to be able to rely on both Session and Hankey on every down.
Thousand-yard season, 16 touchdowns to his name. Da’sjon Craggette Da’sjon Craggette 5’11” | 190 lbs | RB Geibel Catholic | 2024 State PA shows off real acceleration, a clear second gear that allows him to beat angles and hit home runs from anywhere on the field. A shotgun, between the tackles, north and south runner who’s tougher than his build might suggest. A ton of yards come after initial contact in the trenches. Although he’s a shot out of a cannon, you can see him show subtlety before hitting the hole, letting the blocks develop then turning on his jets. A large ratio of his yards come after hitting the open field. Playmaker. Can argue his rank should be higher based on production alone.
Highlights
Yet another thousand-yard rusher out of Hampton HS. Brock Borgo Brock Borgo 6’0″ | 195 lbs | RB Hampton | 2024 State PA is the only back on this list to provide quality reps on defense as well, bolstering his rank further than where it would be without the defensive reps. Five interceptions, one went for a score. Impressive ability to be at the right place at the right time. His interceptions and PBUs come because of his ability to follow assignments correctly. Turns into a RB after interceptions. Surprised Borgo only has five touchdowns watching how he totes the rock. Involved in multiple roles in the offense, can catch the ball but is utilized heavily in tight formations. Blends finesse and toughness in his runs, either starting his runs by breaking tackles or finishing them the same way.
12-minute tape from an electric prospect who nearly debuted inside the top 150 in a loaded 600-deep junior class. Excited to see his speed up close at our combine, his play speed on tape looks legit. The second gear reveals itself on kick returns, as well as during 40-50-yard splash runs. Can break for these long runs both through the trenches in (possible) man-blocking schemes, or when given toss/sweep opportunities on the boundaries in (possible) zone-blocking schemes. Capria shows he can break runs from scores out of multiple sets. Hard to ignore the sheer amount of production out of this kid. I expect similar, if not better, numbers next Fall.
