The list is continuing to grow every every day, as new prospects are added behind the scenes. In February/March, the new prospects that are being added will become visible to subscribing members on the Watch List with our second update. The list will be updated three times during the spring and summer camp season(s). The final list will be released in mid-August, as these athletes are set to begin their high school careers. Here is a look at the athletes from the state of Tennessee, that were included on the initial 2027 Football Prospect Watch List.
A breathtaking athlete to watch out of William Henry Oliver Middle School in Nashville. When he was last measured he was 6-foot and 150-pounds and watching him play the Quarterback position, I instantly thought of 16-year NFL veteran Randall Cunningham. Huge upside and talent here.
I think I speak for a lot of coaches all over the country when I say, show me a Linebacker that also wrestlers, and I’ll show you a kid that will likely lead your team in tackles. Galbreath fits that mold as the 5-foot-8, 180-pounder is a tackling machine that attends Richview Middle School in Clarksville.
One of several kids from the Trent Dilfer-led Lipscomb Academy program to make the initial Watch List. Simply put, Cooper is one of the best pure athletes in the country for the class of 2027. Standing 6-foot and 185-chiseled-pounds, he was a standout on the 7-0 middle school team before being moved up to the high school level in early October. He will be an early offer kid.
Bridges is another kid from Lipscomb Academy that has a huge upside in both football and basketball, like Caleb Cooper Caleb Cooper 6’0″ | 190 lbs | ATH Ensworth | 2027 TN above. He’s a a long, lean kid at 6-foot-3 and 175-pounds that can already dunk a basketball. While his future may be on the hardwood, he’s an athletic kid that can play multiple positions on the football field. Certainly one to watch develop.
A big, wide-bodied Offensive and Defensive Lineman out of Grizzlies Prep in Memphis, that has a future on the interior on both sides of the ball. At the Tennessee Future Stars event this summer was one of the top performers in the game against Kentucky. Has a lot of the parts but must continue to work on feet and overall agility.
The star Running Back on a CAK team that went 10-0 this past season and wrapped up his middle school career with back-to-back conference championships. A complete Running Back that can catch out of the backfield, run between the tackles or gain the edge on the outside. Officially clocked at 4.78 in the forty-yard dash.
Highlights
Another very exciting Quarterback prospect to know in the Volunteer State. As an eighth-grader, has both regular season and playoff varsity Quarterback experience at Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering (MASE). Billed at 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds, he’s an impressive athlete that can also make plays on defense.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but, here’s another impressive athlete that played his eighth-grade season at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville. Extremely exciting player to watch on offense as a Wide Receiver and on defense as a Defensive Back. Listed at 5-foot-7 and 150-pounds and was called up to the high school team after an undefeated middle school season.
At 6-foot-4 and 195-pounds there isn’t a player on the watch list from Tennessee with more potential than Gary Beeson Gary Beeson 6’4″ | 195 lbs | DL Tyner Academy | 2027 TN . He is a long-limbed, high-cut kid with a motor that doesn’t stop, and allows him to chase down plays from behind. Watching him chase down Quarterbacks and Running Backs, I was instantly reminded of #81 DE Julius Campbell in Remember The Titans. I’m serious, watch his clips.
A 6-foot-2, 180-pound Tight End out of Sequatchie County Middle School, Evitts is a big mismatch for Defensive Backs at this level due to his size and length. A member of the SVC-championship winning middle school team, he’s already visited Vanderbilt on an unofficial visit. More to come with this up Tight End prospect.
Highlights
Standing every bit of 6-foot-4 and 190-pounds, Jackson looked nothing like the other 21 players on the field when Soddy Daisy Middle School lined up this year. The big lefty looks the part physically and has some encouraging skills to go along with it, accounting for 14 touchdowns on the season. He has some throwing motion/mechanical things to iron out, but potential is certainly there.
The final Lipscomb Academy 2027 prospect to make the initial list, Fuqua continues to prove he’s a baller on any stage he graces. Whether he’s lined up at Running Back, as he was for much of his eighth-grade season, or at Wide Receiver, as he was for the Tennessee Future Stars, he’s a strong kid and tough to bring down. Also a talented Guard in basketball.
If I had to offer one 2027 prospect in the state of Tennessee at this moment, it would be a toss up between Caleb Cooper Caleb Cooper 6’0″ | 190 lbs | ATH Ensworth | 2027 TN and Kesean Bowman Kesean Bowman 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Brentwood Academy | 2027 TN . Bowman is everything you could want in a Wide Receiver prospect at this stage of the game. Stands 6-foot-1 and 160-pounds (probably heavier now) and is going to be special. He’ll be at Knoxville Catholic.
A burner out of Kate Bond Middle School in Memphis, Johnson is one of the fastest athletes in the entire state for the class of 2027. This past May he recorded the fastest time for a then-seventh grader and placed second overall at the Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA) Middle School State Championships in the 100M with an 11.73, losing only to a 2026 prospect.
A flat out football player. Plays Quarterback on offense, but is also one of the “wedge breakers” on the kick off team from the film I’ve seen of Montgomery Bell Academy. Being a Batholomew and an athlete is essentially synonymous a this point, seeing that his Dad and Uncle both played football at Tennessee and his sister is currently a sophomore on the Women’s Soccer team. Bloodlines.
A really good-looking two-player out of Robertsville Middle School, the feeder program for Oak Ridge High School. Stands 6-foot-1 and 190-pounds and reminds me a ton of future Hall of Fame Tight End, Antonio Gates. on offense and also plays Defensive Ends. Big, agile and strong hands. Also a very good basketball player.
If I was a betting man, I don’t think Glenn stays at Defensive Line (like he played for the Tennessee Future Stars) for the rest of his career…because he’s lightning quick. Was 5-foot-9 and 155-pounds last summer and has only gotten taller. The KIPP Nashville student-athlete has the potential to be a big-time Edge/Outside Linebacker prospect.
No team goes 10-0 and wins back-to-back conference championships like CAK did without some great play up front, and that’s what DeLong provided. Lining up primarily at Rich Tackle this season, he did a very good job on drive and down blocks. It’s imperative he gets quicker as he heads to the next level or quicker pass rushers could give him an issue. At 6-foot-3 and 280-pounds and a 76″ wingspan before high school, potential is there.

A year after his older brother Tory Beaufort, who holds an Eastern Kentucky offer, made our 2026 list, younger brother Terry is following suit. Like his older brother, he is isn’t going to wow you with size but will make jaws drop with his wiggle. Whether he’s in the slot or coming out of the backfield, he’s an impressive kid that can make defenders miss in a phone booth.
There’s something about a big, powerful Running Back that makes the old school football fan in me happy. Belyeu is a load coming out of the backfield at 5-foot-10 and 190-pounds. The Chattanooga Prep student also plays for the powerhouse Central Dekalb club team out of Georgia. He’s big, strong and physical.
