Adams put together one of the better performances of his high school career last Thursday night in the Bears 34-31 win over Franklin Road Academy. The future Colorado quarterback showed grown man game play against the Panthers where he made several high level, college caliber throws while coming up big at the most important time of the game. In the 4th quarter, down four points, Adams took his Bears offense down the field, producing a big 4th down gain with his legs then throwing a rope to his brother,

to put Antioch ahead and into the winners column. It was a Mr. Football caliber drive from Adams and a big moment that he handled with maturity. I think this win pushed Adams into the lead for Class 6A Mr. Football while it also kept his Bears team undefeated and primed for a region title.

Even though Adams may not play on the best 6A team this Fall, he has to stay at the top of the list for Mr. Football after barely missing out on winning the honor last year. The Bears signal caller had a sensational junior year that warranted him winning Mr. Football but the voters thought otherwise. He may have a chip on his shoulder this season to put together another highly productive year and get back to Nashville as a finalist. Currently committed to Colorado, Adams is a cerebral signal caller that can make all throws. It won’t be as easy for Adams after losing several college level receivers but he should have enough talent around him to win games and be considered a candidate for the top individual honor yet again.
