I went into this game blind, hardly knowing or studying any prospect on either side of the field. The two kids I happened to hear of beforehand were Belmont Charter’s Maceo Gatewood and Shamere Davenport. The team has had success this Fall, these two played a big part in that success. Gatewood, a senior, stands at 6’4 with a slender build that allows him to keep his twitchiness around all the positions he aligns. You can express the same sentiment for Shamere Davenport, an intriguing prospect with an awesome build that allows for him to play an athletic role for Belmont Charter. In all honesty, this was a tough game to scout, a tough outing for Belmont Charter all around. While first impressions mean a ton, I’m willing to put what I saw on the back burner when truly evaluating the year these prospects have had. Each had moments on both offense and defense, however. Gatewood came up with a huge contested grab 40+ yards downfield, the catch was called incomplete, yet his efforts to rise above the defender and display strong hands stuck with me. Davenport flashed some as well. I’d love to get both of these kids in a camp setting. I’m also looking forward to ranking both and getting their names out to colleges in the next coming months.

The following three prospects all caught my eye as well, not included is #31 who’s information I could not get a hold of.
Lamin Long was the man behind center, apparently he isn’t the usual signal caller. That makes his performance that much impressive. It’s was evident he’s an athlete at quarterback early on, as a ton of QB draw and power sets were called to show off Long’s open field vision. Long had an awesome run that scored which was called via penalty. The run had Long plowing through practically the entire ANC defense.
Bryan Burgos’ efforts stood out as well, he made some impressive one-on-one, open field tackles on defense. Burgos has solid size that BC likes to utilize at TE. The young man came close to reeling in some impressive catches, I’ll have him on radar. Kyree Wise also impressed me, hoping that is his correct name.
This wasn’t the best performance by Belmont Charter, yet I still came away with a few names to put on our database.

Aharon Bloshuk
Two prospects stole the show in this one, we’ll save them for last. Christion Keel might be the third legitimate prospect that deserves recognition after this game. Keel keyed in on some run plays from his linebacker spot. Keel also sparked the offense with a 2-yard TD run, as well as some impressive outside zone runs where he showed off his open-field toughness. The young man has a solid, compact build that suits his style of play on both sides of the ball. Luke Hyland and Aharon Bloshuk provided some offensive spark as well.

Conner Aquino
Conner Aquino
If I had known the final score beforehand, there’s a chance I wouldn’t have shown up. Good thing I did, considering I got the chance to watch two juniors absolutely dominate this game, they happen to be brothers who are equally as impressive on the lacrosse field.
Conner Aquino is the junior behind center, a quarterbacking prospect that I’m prepared to rank high on our future update that is just around the corner. His stats from the outing are listed below.
- t
- 22-29, 400yds passing, 7 TDs
Believe it or not, the stats, a line that shows a whopping touchdown total, don’t do his performance justice. Conner is clean and efficient in the pocket, standing tall in the face of pressure if it shows itself. Conner excels looking deep to short, keying his first read well downfield. Awesome depth perception when attacking vertically. Had a ridiculous throw on the run that almost went for a TD. Conner displayed flare and magic on the go too, showing he can provide quality reps if moved off platform. He dominated this game, seemingly without breaking a sweat. Belmont Charter certainly helped the cause, still, much credit to the young man who isn’t getting enough love in the state. Conner Aquino put forth one of the more complete showings of any quarterback I have seen this Fall. His stock is soaring.
Hunter Aquino deserves the same praise, you can argue the tandem wouldn’t have had the day they put forth without the other. Before we get into Hunter’s prowess at wideout, let’s mention that Hunter the DB had two interceptions on the day, one he took back for a score. Hunter tallied 8 catches for just under 200 yards receiving while being on the scoring end of four of Conner’s seven touchdowns. A five-score day for Hunter, who might rank above his brother because of the versatility he provides ANC. Hunter’s catch radius extends way above his head, standing at 6’4, you get how unfair that can be. He’s got a stride to him as well, he challenged the BC secondary deep on numerous occasions. BC had no answer for Hunter or Conner. Since seeing the two work in person, I have plugged their name into almost every recruiting conversation I’ve been a part of. Excited for these prospects’ future no matter what sport they end up committing to.
